Totally forgot to mention in all my praise of him.  The part he played in the second goal.

Bruno inexplicably plays a horrible pass nowhere near him that's going off for a goal kick.  I think a lot of players would have given up on it or started to go and then stopped.  I even thought it was Tino at first, who is rapid when he gets going and thought he had no chance.  He busts a gut to keep it in, his usual casual self to then pick the right pass and then we score.

19 years old and I don't even think it's outrageous to say he is our most calm and measured player in the squad.

I was never calling him a plodder or owt.  But I've never been more wrong about a player.  Ok, maybe Seb Bassong

I thought he was going to be another Longstaff sort, albeit a lot better on the ball.  He's been our best player for the last what?  6 games?  Not like we've seen loads of others underperforming either.  As we've had plenty who have shone in that time, too.

I was right next to the corner flag when Miley did that and I was up out my chair celebrating it like a goal and gave it a proper "GWARN YOUNG LEWIS SERN" which he would have definitely heard

He should have been playing anyway. Outside of Bruno he was performing better than any other midfielder when he did get the chance to play.

I was screaming about this pretty much every week so I'm glad he's getting the chance to play.

He was unlikely to get loads of minutes at CM and that’s still the case.

Seems like he has Howe’s trust as a utility man at the moment. Which is great.

He's good in the air mind

Pretty sure he can give it a good go, but let's protect the lad a bit as well. He is 19yrs old, he threw him in at RB and he is doing an awesome job there, and last night was an emergency CB.

Not keen to throw him in the deep end against top PL strikers, eg: against Haaland next Tuesday or in a CL game

We need to look to the market for CB options for the remainder of the season and let Miley continue developing in midfield.

Did well against Aaronson for the most part.

When he went to CM he seemed to crowd the right hand side and was less effective for it. Would’ve liked to have seen him with the ball playing from the middle.

Too cool for school on the ball when at CB.

Proving to be a very valuable squad member with his positional flexibility.

The few games at full-back has been the making of him. From a tidy, functional player, to someone playing with confidence. Think playing full-back has let him see the game from a different perspective and he'll benefit from it when he goes back into midfield.

Like Howe said in the pre-match presser, this experience will make him a better midfielder too.

I've thought for a long time that he's been playing too cautious. Never taking a player on, rarely passing the ball forwards. It's not really a critique as much as it is praise, as it's painfully obvious he is way more talented and able to create more offensively than he's shown from the midfield position to date.

Hopefully this RB spell has helped him realize it/given him confidence to take more risks.

The few games at full-back seem to have done the job of a loan spell in the Championship.

After Spurs signed him. I said to some Spurs supporting mates that he would go on to be one of the best CB’s in the league. I may have even said world

In my defence I was 20 and used to be extremely biased towards our players

In your defence, he came in from out of nowhere after we'd just endured a season of Cacapa, Rozenhal(?), Steven Taylor, Peter Ramage, David Edgar, Lamine Diatte. Only highlight being Abdoulaye Faye.

Almost anyone was going to look world class.

I think that’s what it was. Young lad, bit raw, but with loads of good attributes. Then compared with that bunch of shite. Anyone competent would have looked elite.

It's like when you're 17, you're fumbling around in some lasses undies in a cupboard at a house party, you've made your debut, you're getting some action, you've done well, but you've not done owt spectacular either.

Then you get to 19. You've progressed from fumbling in cupboards to booking Premier Inn rooms and taking lasses back for a proper night of pleasure. You've got your confidence, you know that you've got the skills, but you're not a show off. You're a lot more expressive and you're starting to command the bedroom. You're willing to be more experimental. You've probably experienced a squirter. And the lasses can't get enough of it. You've even been confident enough to take on a recently divorced 38 year old scorcher.

So I've been told by people I know who have done these things.

[emoji38] No wonder you don't like xG.

Eddie said he’s been training at centre back for the last years and they’re comfortable with him playing there - gives us another emergency option which is great
