Replies to this tweet show the problem. 

 

People can leave when they want. It was shit why should I watch it etc. If you want to leave early fine, but don't be offended when people call you out and the atmosphere keeps getting worse. Lots of spectators, when we need more supporters.

Sounded really flat.

 

While it was expected to a degree, given the KO time. It definitely feels that the randomly allocated seats along with the increase in expectation have impacted the atmosphere.

I thought the corner was better today than Wednesday like. Fair play to the ones who stayed and clapped the team off as well. Nice rendition of E Howes b&w army

Seats aren’t randomly allocated anymore 

 

But because of the demand for tickets, going to the match now often means rocking up on your own to a seat you’ve never been in before and being next to people you’ve never sat with before
 

And the ST residents of many sections of the ground have no interest in making any noise 

 

All of this means it’s not the optimum conditions for creating a decent atmosphere

 

Introduce more standing and make those sections singing areas, atmosphere would immediately improve  

 

Some people with ST’s might have to move though, which would create ructions

Since moving south years back the 12:30pms are a ballache especially after been up Sunday and Wednesday however watching us on Tele you realise there is a constant noise pretty much from corner thought game but not bigger enough section to catch on more.

 

If you threw another end in leazes the atmosphere would be so much better.

Most miserable fucking cunt I’ve ever had to sit near today. Back row of the East Stand block L. Seat 15-something. Late 60s or so. Constantly moaning to what I’m assuming is his wife. Doesn’t sing. My brother had the exact same seat as me today on Wednesday. I’ll share some snippets he came out with midweek and today;

 

Wednesday

“I’ve been here 25 years and we never take short corners”

”First short corner of the season there”

”Ah great Isak scored, doesn’t matter he’s off in the summer”

 

Today

”Why’s he (Newcastle player) moaning to the ref man, just wasting our own time”


As well as others. Shan’t ever be buying that seat again.

My old ST seat was 2 rows in front and like 4 seats along. Night and day experience. Never heard that git before. Absolutely mind numbing.

I think some people genuinely don't know anything else. Their matchday experience is just 90 minutes of misery (like everyone's experience today heh heh heh) otherwise they haven't actually been to the match.

 

People leaving today at 1-2 today though, fuck me.

It was a half 12 KO. Not like you need to catch the last bus or have work early in the morning. Just stay and watch your team. We mock the mackems but some of our fans are no better. At least we turn up In the 1st place I suppose.

Double post but aye, fair enough when we were 3/4 one down but fuck me man until the 90+ minute there was one goal in it. Why leave?
