They must be right, there's no secret source of tickets that they're accessing? Think so. Was upstairs in the Trent House before the match and was speaking to a group of American lads who had come over for the game. One of them told me he paid 600 dollars for a seat in the east stand. He then said to me "I used to support Arsenal, but now I support Chelsea. If I enjoy tonight I might start supporting Newcastle instead though". There was a lad sat on their table in a Liverpool shirt watching the Galatasaray v Liverpool game and it became obvious after a while that he was part of their group so I asked him if he had a ticket for the match and he said yes. I said to him "well, I hope you have a jacket to cover your Liverpool shirt". When I got to my seat the guy in the seat next to me told me straight away that he was a Barca fan. He then spent the whole game filming and taking photos with his phone. I asked him later on where he had got his ticket and he gave me the name of the website, it was something like LiveSportsEvents.com or similar. He left five minutes from the end so missed their equaliser.

They must be right, there's no secret source of tickets that they're accessing? Same as every other punter does: Pay £40 for a membership and stick an application in the ballot. And if that fails join the 10am general sale. And if that fails keep an eye on resale. And if that fails, buy a touted ticket from a reseller site. They get 3 x legal bites of the cherry and 1 x illegal one. They've got exactly the same chance as a lifelong NUFC fan who goes to loads of games. pedro111
Glad to hear that it was a great atmosphere as I thought it sounded flat on Amazon. You could even hear the players shouting at times. The Comms even stated that "the noise is picking up now after a subdued start to the second half.

Amazed to hear it sounded flat, everyone I've spoke to who watched it on TV said it sounded amazing. First couple of minutes of second half we quiet but that's because most people weren't back at their seats. It was fantastic all night pretty much. Not quite the levels of PSG but that night, the PSG fans helped create the atmosphere whereas the Barca fans were pretty much mute all game.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure what people would report back in terms of atmosphere after watching it on TV. PSG was more radge, people up off their seats cheering tackles, and that wasn't as evident last night. It was good to see people stood up in the Gallowgate and there was some positive comments from the commentators (but sometimes you feel they talk our atmosphere up due to its reputation rather than reality). So I'm really pleased to hear that it was great and added to what was a special night. Hopefully there's more to come!
John P
Yeah same, didn't sound great on the telly, but they often fuck around with the sound levels and it can be really misleading

Lush Vlad
Usually quiet to ok’ish where I’m sat in the Leazes. Best I can remember in a long while last night. The way the game went and the dodgy ref helped. Refs being shit always gets the fans going.
AyeDubbleYoo
I think the fans knew from the start that we really needed to turn up. It was massively loud in the LWC even before the ref started winding us up.

It sounded like it would be in place for next season but maybe plans changed? Can't see it happening with renewals already started.. The good news of that the club are definitely considering this with two new standing areas already identified. I think they are areas with lower numbers of ST holders but still people do need to be notified so maybe plans are for 2027/28.
Superior Acuña
Do yous reckon most these Barca fans were from their global support rather than Catalans? I didn't see any around me. I did see some half and half scarves but I reckon you'll get some of our lot buying them for a game like that.

They must be right, there's no secret source of tickets that they're accessing? They have to be surely. The chances for your average member to score tickets yesterday was minimal so for so many away fans to be dotted around the ground you'd think they had to have sourced them from 3rd party websites unless loads of Barca fans signed up for memberships and were all very lucky in the ballot as well. Not too many complaints from me as long as they don't try to act themselves, and it appears they didn't. I was at Leverkusen and I reckon we had a good 4k in their end. I managed to get 4 extra tickets in their end myself (sorted a lad out from here with 2) so I'd be a bit of a hypocrite if I complained when the shoe was on the other foot. Edited to say last time we were in the CL we played 3 clubs with worldwide fanbases and lots of hangers on. Very few away fans managed to access the home end for those 3 games so it shows how much easier it is now for them to secure tickets in the home end compared to in the past. A sad indictment of our ticketing system when 1000s of home fans miss out. Edited March 11 by Wallsendmag
