Should will sell Isak or Bruno then?

Ideally we wouldn’t be in a position desperate to sell with two days remaining (if of course it’s true).

Dunno if true or not

I'm dumb. How can a team with multiple point deductions for financial transgressions spend 40 million on a player that we've been forced to sell, despite no point deductions?

Shouldn't have bought Barnes, not sell Minteh.

If we believe the £30m gap figure then this still wouldn't have helped.

Capology have Barnes' annual wage at £4m and £7.6m of his £38m fee would've been amortised over the last year.

He almost certainly won us 3 points when he came off the bench and scored a brace against West Ham whilst 3-1 down, without which we would've finished below Man Utd and would've cost us £3m in PL finishing position cash.

Very rough figures but:

£4m

+£7.6m

-£3m

=£8.6m total savings in this financial period

You need to consider the opportunity cost of purchasing Barnes.

If we had not purchased Barnes at that fee and those were wages , we would have purchased another player or players that would have e contributed in different ways.

My point was solely in response to the comment that we shouldn't have bought Barnes last summer so we could keep Minteh this summer.

If we bought a different player last summer that would be a moot point to start with.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have bought Barnes, just that even if we didn't we would likely still need to raise c.20m by the end of June.

Brighton would be a good club for him, he can develop there and they will happily sell him on if he does well.

Everton not so much with Dyche-ball.

Personally always like to see players we've sold do absolutely terribly to make the deal look smarter so Everton seems the ideal spot.

It’s going to be a long few years if fans react like this every time we flip a young player for profit.

Think its just a first time. Going from Hendrick, to this..

We have a good record of sending young prospects to Everton that turn out poor

No no Carroll went to Liverpool, not Everton...

Cool, how does that help us now?

Who says we need help or how much? Papers? Shit stirring journos protecting the top 6?

If we are in the soup, then the action was not to buy Barnes.
