No chance he's playing on with a dislocated shoulder, he'd have been off immediately. Thankfully there's only Leeds then an international break so he could only miss maybe 1 game. Fingers crossed - just shows how thin the squad remains even after adding to it, this is what is going to nail us this season. We're only 2 games in and already we have doubts over Tonali, Joelinton and Botman & Schar is concussed and Gordon sits out the next 3

That doesn't really mean the squad is thin though, that just means we have loads of injuries

And who's going to take their places? The squad has gone from anorexic to thin this window, there are no other options now. We've gone from having 13 good players to having 17, that's still not enough. It's no-one's fault but we're still lacking that adequate depth

Well we've upgraded in every position we've made a signing in IIRC. The bench tonight was the strongest it's been for years. Doesn't mean we won't feel the effects of 4 or 5 first choice players being out. Any team would feel that.

Was freaking out every second he stayed on and continued playing with his arm pinned to his side.

If he doesn't get injured we don't give up that goal at the end.

I hope he's fine and it isn't serious.

Best player on the world got injured. Gutted. Hope it’s not too serious. Rugger players get “Stingers” all the time and come back in a few weeks. I’ve never known what one is but I hope it’s just that

Agree totally and it's taken just 1 game to throw all of that in the shitter. Injuries are part and parcel of the game, it's unfortunate to lose 3 in the same game but it's happened and we've lost another to suspension so that's 4 players in one night. Our squad can't cope with that and it'll have an impact on the team we pick at Leeds on Saturday. We're essentially back to square 1. Other teams (not constrained like we are) can easily cope with that but we can't. I'm already dreading looking at the bench for Leeds

Injured players come back eventually you know. There's no team in the world that have back-ups to the back-ups of similar quality for every position just in case they need to step up if the back-ups gets injured.

For all tonight had a miserable, gut-punching outcome and lots of other mini-disasters, I think I'm a "Sandro is okay" away from feeling much better. The cumulation of the game's climax plus Gordon's suspension, plus the injuries is just too fucking much. But if Tonali is alright, we'll be alright.

They only showed it once but did he get injured throwing himself to the ground or did Ekitike actually throw him down?

Seemed slightly self inflicted?

Either way he's our best player now, especially as twatface is missing . Cannot afford to lose him, would be just our luck that two champions league campaigns in a row we lose Tonali.

Fairly sure they were both holding and grappling and Ekitike threw him down

Yeah, concerns about this season have never been around the quality of our first eleven, or even our first sixteen thanks to recent signings. But in a pinch the established teams can throw on a generic 16 year-old who is substantially more dangerous than Willock. I didn't expect it to hit us this early, but here we are, shit things happen.

Liverpool's bench didn't look all that tonight tbf. Although it did come off for them.

Yeah we needed squad depth this season as well got quite lucky with where our injuries were last season.

Ekitike clearly put a foot out in front of him and pushed him, tripping him over, I don't think he threw himself down, I genuinely think he just couldn't right himself because of the trip.

Looked like a dislocation. Praying it isn’t but the way he came off didn’t look great. Couldn’t move his arm

Really hoping it’s just stiffness, like out for Leeds game and international duty and back after.

Surgery and we’re back to 23-24 with having no him and Joelinton again :D Why can’t we have nice things for a period of time.

For being 2 games into the season yes. In the middle of the season this is not so many injuries, we will probably have more after some CL games.
