He probably won’t be the only one if we’re finishing midtable or bottom half.

Let’s not forget if we do, then the players take a lot of the responsibility.

Luckily for us they cant all leave. I'd argue only Bruno, Tino, Hall, Tonali and Gordon when he can be arsed would find it relatively easy to get a 'step up' club. Botman just signed a new deal.

I would be looking to sell Gordon anyway. Botman will lack options given his injury record.

Rumours are we are signing Lewis Cook for 60m to replace him - club looking at a midfielder with PL experience

We can reignite our John McGinn interest.

Thoughts?

Yeah since he's not good enough for us so he'll have to settle for joining the potential English and European title holders this summer.

Does that make sense?

Yep - 50m will do the trick

It really looks like last summer's window has done a serious number on some people. Our transfers (on the whole) have been pretty good and have taken us from fighting relegation, to the CL twice, to two cup finals and a trophy. But one bad window and it's got people convinced we can't do anything else going forward but sign overpriced PL players, even with a new DoF in charge who's not had the chance to make a stamp on the squad yet.

About as much sense as his agent offering him to them.

Do the club know about this? 🤣

If they can get a big money move at the end of it, I doubt they will be too miffed.

Im more on about fans suggesting they are too good not to be playing European football, or not blaming them for wanting out.

You also have to consider we built that great side super quickly - 20 months. 4 windows ending January 2022 - August 2023.

It's 2026 and the only people directly involved in signing that squad is Howe and his team, maybe Nickson too.

It's not one bad window. June 2024 selling fiasco can be forgiven because we kept the team that won the cup and finished 5th but the Guehi saga and the Mitchell crap was a black eye. And we haven't looked a cohesive and competent outfit in the transfer market since in terms of incomings. Getting £20m for Kelly and bringing Thiaw for £35m is the best we've done.

It's one bad window in terms of standard/quality of players signed which is what I was getting at (poorly worded)

Off topic but remember when this guy just posted done deals out of nowhere. Absolute sell out and he’s probably making more money for the clicks but what a loss of credibility/respect.

We lost our best player last summer after winning a trophy and making the CL. More about money than where we finish.

Tonali is decent on the ball, but nothing special really. As mentioned by others, his best attributes are his athleticism and work rate.

Good god man
