If Sandro and Tino both go then we need the following in the summer:

Keeper

2 x RB

CB

LB

2 x CM

Winger

at a bare minimum. Also probably a number 10 and a striker.

Gonna be a fun summer.

6 weeks or so ago I had some doubts watching him about whether or not he wanted to be here. Having a baby and being tired seemed to make the most sense, but this would certainly explain his form.

The Tonali we had from December 2024 to a couple months ago was a revelation. The one we have now is a bit of a liability; I really hope we don't get another few months of this and then an exit.

Luckily this club reinvests really well.

A 22 year old German and  29 year old with one good season in the PL to replace him.

I mean who needs him? who can afford him? and how much would we want for him?

All important after the rat shit having 3 years left with our option to extend doesnt mean we hold all the cards if he asks to move on I am not sure we can risk going against his wishes and forcing him to stay.

On his day he is up there with the best midfielders in the league the 100m sort but this season coupled with potentially his desire/wish to go how much would we actually get? 70m? did we pay 55m for him? its hardly earth shattering wiggle room.

Sandro Tonali’s agent Beppe Riso denies reports he has left door open to Juventus but has left it open to Milan 'We'll evaluate it in February'.

None of this makes any sense. Did the agent think Arsenal would bid £70M+ on the last day of the window?

Ornstein is usually top tier for Arsenal as well so I believe him

Look on the bright side. At least we'll get £70-£80m to spend on one of the tall lads from the Leeds midfield and another fast winger who can't trap a ball.

At the time it felt like Isak leaving was this era of the project officially ending and the start of the team breaking up.

Hope i'm wrong.

This. Isak last year, and strong chance TIno and Tonali this year, and potentially a 7-10th finish, would suggest we risk settling as an upper-middling club, with any quality players with ambition using us as a stepping stone.

How much is Tonali worth? In this market, when he’s at his best as he’s been pretty poor this season. I suspect he had a few meeting in London before or after his son was born.

Can our players a start asking out at the start of the window publicly if they are going to do this rather than at the end of after other teams have spent

That’s not been done without his consent - off in the summer

Think we always knew Sandro was here for limited time. I can't imagine the mess of a summer, the transitional season where we're up and down, and the arrival of his firstborn hasn't stirred things up.

Hopefully we get a good wedge and can bring in that Smit or whomever else we rate highly with the proceeds.

Edit: By good wedge I mean more than the £70m touted in the last couple pages. That's far too low like.

If we hit mid-table, there's going to be a hell of a lot of this.

Mebbes its best to move these players on who are underperforming and leading us to mid table then? Or those who's injury records are shit?
