Surely footballers can't be allowed to just lose all hope and chuck it with one average season? I find all this talk about people being disillusioned and they'll definitely want out a bit much.

Did they think we would just crush the PL every season without any chance of a blip?

Why stay at a club that has blips when you can agitate for a move to a club that is around the top every year and is protected by the financial rules?

Think this is the first season where players have gone backwards under Eddie, really need to find an identity quick…id like us to be far more high tempo, and I’d like to see us play a higher line and get players closer together, but wonder if Nick is able to run well enough to maintain a constant press

Someone said something like ‘some players are beginning to doubt the project, and it’s short and long term ambition’. If players did sign up on this promise, I wouldn’t blame them for thinking it’s way off track with nobody looking like stepping in. Us achieving so much so quickly meant we needed to capitalise and become a big club in terms of staff in all areas. Everything has stagnated. If we had Isak instead of Big Nick, we’d have a few more points, but those questions would remain.

I don't think it's as black and white as that. He has probably got the attention of some of the richest clubs in the world with his performances over the last couple of seasons, and it might be they can tempt him offering him a huge pay rise, funded by their cartel pockets.

Until we can match their big boy wages we have to be prepared to deal with this and if we have to sell make sure we get the best price possible, and ideally get his replacement in first.

I can't stand the football narrative of "player doesnt like direction of club" when that said player, ie : tonali in this case is so integral to how we play and whether we move up or down the league. Putting in bad performances in your key position = why we didn't pick up the result. If Tonali wasn't asleep at Leverkussen we would have been in the final 8. If Tonali wasn't slow to track Ekitke we would have likely gone to halftime 1-0 at Liverpool. I'm not blaming him, but these flash points matter and the individual errors can cost us.

The voice of reason, as normal.

It's possible that you could end up at a miserable disorganised club and be unhappy? Whereas you could stay in a comfortable well organised club with loads of friends and be happy.

Do you think money supercedes my second sentence?

Hmm, call me a conspiracy theorist but it seems a bit convenient that Sandro comes out in November and says he's happy where he is but will be reviewing his future "year on year" then proceeds to play pony from that exact moment on? All seems a little fishy, especially when you throw the January rumours into the mix. We need the old Sandro back or a decent fee for him while his stock is still high.

Other than how well we treated him before than ban I guess if I remove the Newcastle is the center of my football universe and I only thought if it as a job in any other industry you can like where you work and your colleagues but still move for opportunities.

Got to think he isnt tied to the area at all and while he can try and hit any career goals with us we know right now the task is much less likely here than some other clubs.

If he goes and we get a pile of money and its not a shit show played out in the media then I guess we have to accept it.

Rather keep him but if its one of Bruno or tonali that need to go to rework the not all firing midfield the younger more valuable asset is tonali but Bruno just seems to get us and the area.

Anyone that doesn’t want to play for us can GTF. Love Sandro but if he wants out I’m already over him. Rinse whoever for maximum and have replacements/reinvestments lined up. Oh and if he’s not performing bench him.

That's the way I think. If Isak wanted to leave then fuck him. I couldn't understand others wanting to "force him to stay" or "let him see out his contract". Nonsense. Get rid of unhappy players for me.

Isak is a crock and has scored 3 goals this season and he may never be the same after his recent injury.

We did great business in selling him.

As you say the issue is the incomings and the tactics.

Is there any actual objective evidence that he doesn't want to play for us and wants out?

No. Loves the club and the area. So does their lass. More money I suppose. However, it's really a millionaire becoming more of a millionaire. Seriously, that's honestly what this shite is all about.

Said before but he left his boyhood club for us. He won't really give a shit. I like him, he gives his all, and he's done decent PR interviews to make us think he cares, but why would he? If we can get 80+ for him then I'd be happy.

Money talks.

If someone calls me tomorrow offering my wage to be tripled with some nice bonuses thrown in and the opportunity to impress with national awards, I think I’ll be off too.

There is no such thing as loyalty in football anymore. The Shearer’s of today just don’t exist.

It is just pointless getting too attached to any player. We need to get used to players like Isak jumping ship and have 3 or 4 contingencies ready to go so we’re not scrambling around after the event.

When it comes down to it, it seems to be midfielders and attackers we’re in danger of losing or tha we need to upgrade. Our footballs been awful, results awful. League qualification for CL gone bar us playing way better and other teams dropping off.

So, play high tempo football. Take more risks, train attacking patterns. We need the midfield 3 buzzing and wingers buzzing round moving teams thru our movement, Tonali, Bruno having a relationship, it’s so stale in there, so predictable. Just entertain, let the players off the leash. Worst case Tonali scores a few, Willock an Joelinton might actually play well on instinct, they’ve got no iq, only Bruno and Sandro scan the pitch. We may concede an drop results, but we need the attack
