Rumour on the Whatsapp groups is that his pewter tankard with "I drink Moretti" engraved on it is no longer on the shelf behind the bar in the Job Bulman.

Next you'll be telling us he never really hated the Mackems.

Apparently he's been heard telling family who visit from Italy that he'll pick them up from Ponteland Airport.

We'll sell him and Gordon for a combined £170m and replace them with Dwight mcneill and John mcginn for £120m.

Might need to pay for McGinn's arse in instalments mind.

Writing is on the wall I think - and for me, he'll be away in the summer to help finance something of a rebuild. He's been an integral part over the last couple of years and whilst it will be disappointing if he moves on - he's done his bit.

There was something awkward and clunky about that reveal of his contract extension to the press. Felt odd it got revealed when it did and why.

Also coincidentally his form dipped right around that time aswell. Wonder if there was abit of unhappiness about it from his camp.

Either way I don't think he can be accused of not working hard for the team, he works harder than most and is the least of our problems at the moment. There are other players and positions that need fixing in the immediate to get us firing again.

Will probably rock up at a cartel club mind.

Generally the case for anyone half decent tbh. Top level football is designed that way, we just have to get used to it and cut our cloth accordingly.

I'm sad if he does want out already given how much we stood by him, would've hoped he'd at least feel he owed as an "extra" season if we don't make the progress our top players expect. Can't hate him though, as long as he gives his all and leaves in a deal that suits the club. If he tries to force our hands like a certain Swedish rodent that'd be a different story, but no indication of that

Tonali's agent says decision on future will be made in the summer

Sandro Tonali's agent Giuseppe Riso has said a decision will be made about the midfielder's future in the summer.

There had been conflicting reports that claimed Riso offered Tonali to Arsenal in the January transfer window, which were later denied, and Sky Sports News reported Newcastle were not approached by the Gunners for Tonali.

However, in an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Riso has now commented on the future of Tonali, where he said: “Newcastle are having a hard time letting go of Sandro, and he wants to lead the club to the Champions League.

"These transfer discussions will take place later. We’ll see how the season ends and then we’ll decide what to do.

“There’s no preference at the moment. It’s still early. What we’re saying today won’t apply tomorrow.

"Newcastle couldn’t let him go now, and there’s no point in moving, especially since Sandro is very attached to the club.

“We’ll evaluate and decide what to do in the summer.”

Earlier this week, Riso also spoke about Tonali's situation, denying claims he had offered the Italian to Arsenal ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.

Nothing winds me up more than people saying players are definitely going to leave based on no knowledge at all.

If you interview a football agent about a transfer rumour, that's the kind of answer you'll get.

Wouldn't mind seeing that this season tbh, there's still plenty of games left.

Weird thing to get wound about tbh. It’s definitely not an answer you’ll get from all agents either.
