Only time I remember Anderson playing LW was when he came on at home against PSG. Every other time he was playing as an 8.

Did it happen at Forest away as well? When he scored the header that got chalked off?

I was there but I’m not 100% sure

Possibly, but my feeling with Anderson was always that I wasn't entirely sure where he should play. He predominantly played as an 8 though if I remember correctly.

I totally agree. I was also quite happy to sell him at the time (over others who were mooted).

I have no issue with how he was utilised by Howe when he was fit to play.

Bergvall reminds me of a poor man's Frenkie de Jong. My only hesitation would be two ankle injuries.

Swedish massages not all they're cracked up to be then?

See I disagree. I thought he was fine. So many games I watched and thought he was good, then come on here and get told otherwise. Definitely happy in a bubble now, but I'd be surprised if we get anyone as good as him.

So genuinely asking - would you accept or turn down £100m for someone you think is fine /good?

Romano likes stick the knife in to Newcastle - Pinned the Munoz to Liverpool, now pinned Tonali to Spurs.

Yep, he came on for ASM at half time and was excellent. One of the few times for us I was really impressed with him.

Tonali came in and was played as an 8 in the right sided CM position, but struggled there, to the point he was dropped for Longstaff for a bit.

He then came back in and eventually ended up in the 6 position where he offered really good recovery runs against transitions, and fortunately that worked well for the one season, and then it's not worked well since. I don't think the original intention was to even play him there, and now it just seems an awkward fit that's no longer functioning well.

Bruno is now settled in the right sided 8 position and is getting goals and creating them, and so let's just go out and get a proper number 6 please.

Do you honestly think that we will go out and buy a number 6? We've avoided one like the plague since Eddie arrived.

Have read it in a number of articles from different journos that a midfielder capable of playing that role will be brought in this summer.

Any word on how much you'd be asking for him?

Almost impossible to say. Supposedly  we bought him for 8.5M or thereabouts and he’s contracted forever (2031 I think) so we don’t need to sell him at all, and like I say he becomes Club-trained this year. I don’t know De Zerbi’s take on him, which is probably the most important thing right now. Fans in general seem to be saying they wouldn’t listen to anything under £40M but that means nowt.

There hardly seems to be any point in speculating about what we’re doing this off-season - it’s all a bit mental. Reading between the lines RDZ wants a total squad overhaul and it’s hard to argue with him. This is the tough side of having a manager with this much power and no proper DoF to knit the long-term together.

There’s a reason Brighton chanced their arm over Vuskovic. It might pay off. Same with you guys. Bergvall as part of any Tonali deal does make some sense I guess. We supposedly signed Archie Gray for £30M (effectively with Rodon making his move permanent) and I think that would be the absolute floor. It’s all mental though.

At the very least should be a pretty exciting summer for you lot.

I think it’s more that the agents use him to promote their player or manager. He was tweeting about someone signing for a new agency yesterday and has a strange habit of putting out overly positive stuff about de Zerbi. We clearly get used by agents, and Romano seems to be the go-to twat to push the narrative.

I’m still not convinced we know what we’re doing. At least De Zerbi does, on the pitch, so hopefully we’ve got that to look forward to.

Liverpool didn't really become a big club until the 60s. Everton were always Liverpools biggest club up until the 70s.

We were a bigger club than Liverpool when we played them in the cup final in the 70s. Well, we'd won more than them anyway.

Seems crazy now

Just had the Spurs Reddit pop up in my feed and they're talking about the Tonali bid with the same energy we're talking about bringing in new players. After they were gazumped last minute for Eze they're worried about history repeating
