Just remembered, Howe made him captain towards the end of the season. It was right after the quite abont only wanting players who are committed to being here. Nicely thrown back in his face by Tonali.

Did he? Which games?

I am not bothered if Tonali goes for a decent fee.  At first I thought he and Bruno got in each others way, but it clicked in 24/25 with a few tweaks.

However the key point was when Bruno was out you expected him to be the driving force of the team and to lead by example, yet he didn't. I've no doubt he'll do pretty well elsewhere, but he hasn't for us for long enough. I'm actually tired of him.

He was definitely captain in the home game against Bournemouth. Think there may have been one more.

Ramsdale
Livramento
Hall
Botman
Thiaw
Ramsey
Tonali
L.Miley
Barnes
Elanga
Osula

Would see the obvious choice if he was…

I do find it a bit disgusting  how much of a twat him and his agent have been considering he was twiddling his thumbs for a good 12 months whilst on a ban and the club supported him and even did a lot for him behind the doors

Still, no loyalty in football now days so what do you expect

True, but then clubs and fans show little loyalty either. If someone underperforms they get pelters and everyone’s delighted if we get good money for them to reinvest. I don’t really get the loyalty argument. They get one career and there’s nothing wrong with them moving around imo. As fans, we see hundreds of players pass though and barely think of them again when they’ve left.

Probably just me and if it is then fair enough but for £100m I'm not going to lose any sleep, that'll be two players this window we'll have sold for more than we paid, three if hall goes and I suspect at some time soon, maybe Jan livramento will be on that list of us selling for more. I know we have to get better at spending but we're getting better at that side of things and that needed to happen.

Despite finishing 17th twice it's the way they can just throw £250k a week to players.  Just how can you compete? It's nearly impossible.

The same with Man Utd last season. Could easily see Spurs doing similar and just jump up to 6th or so as if nowt happened.

Tbf, one thing you can't criticise Tonali for is lack of effort. During our worst spells he was still throwing himself around the pitch. Maybe not that effectively, but it wasn't for lack of trying.

I'll always be grateful for his bootlace tying but 0 goals and 2 assists in 35 league games aays it all, if he leaves for over £80m there won't be any bad feelings from me.

Central midfielders like him are so much more than raw data like that, man. Longstaff scored about 8 goals in his last season but we'd not be dropping £50m on him to bring him back.

At least with Man U you can argue that having been champions for many years they have fans all over the globe.  What have Spurs done to warrant being able to spend such sums?  I don't get where they get the revenue from.

London club primarily allowed them to attract top talent. Levy was a good businessman in terms of making money and growing revenue. He realised that getting a state of the art stadium would push them on. It’s about as simple as that I’d say

What stats should we be looking at with him?

This season i feel he's run around a lot without showing much if any quality at all

True, but setting statistics asside he's been a near ever-present part of a central midfield that, whilst great on paper and reputation, has consistently underperformed and been dominated by other teams all season.
