To be honest, gambling is just the same as smoking and drinking and any form of addiction, including porn. Some don't do it all, some do it occasionally and are not bothered, some do it as a hobby, some do it as a job, some people get obsessed, some get addicted, some lives are ruined, some commit suicide over it.

It's about education and restriction. Not prohibition. Prohibition doesn't work.  There is nothing remotely good for yourself and your body drinking more than one glass of wine. But we all do it - socially it's fun. Same with gambling, it can be fun.

provides jobs, tax revenue (Denise Coates is the uks largest tax payer and Bet365 have done more for employment and the community in stoke than any government of whatever hue).

also lots of people enjoy it as a legitimate leisure pursuit.

I’ll confess to having skin in the game but prohibition is never the answer imho

'Provides jobs and tax revenues' is the go-to excuse for most  immoral enterprises.

For what it's worth, I don't think it should be illegal either. I know It does significant damage to society, so I take no part in it now.

There's a lot of heresay and made up "look at me" twitter nonsense around about this.

I reckon it'll amount to next to nothing.

He's got lawyers involved and is staying silent, so until I hear something concrete, I am not assuming anything.

The wicker furniture set we moved from the US that now inhabits our “conservatory” was bought with my grandma-in-law’s proceeds from running the numbers for the Mafia in Akron.

Sandro Tonali is aware that he made a mistake and now wants to cure his gambling addiction by contacting a therapist.

Tonali cried and vented his feelings with his dearest loved ones, the Newcastle midfielder is well aware of having made a mistake and now he has every intention of following the advice of those close to him and following a recovery path with a professional.

if its not football-related, what are we expecting here? a fine or a ban still?

He can’t be banned like.

The club could choose not to play him for a bit (unlikely), but if it’s as reported, he hasn’t broken any ‘football’ rules.

[To the tune for "You to me are everything"]

Sandro really loves a bet,

He blasts it all on the Roullette,

Tonali, Tonali

To you he's just a centre-mid,

But he will smash your team to bits,

Tonali, Tonali

If all he’s done is casino games there’s absolutely no way he gets a football ban. Bit concerned about the reports that Zaniolo had also made some football bets but hope Sandro didn’t do those.

Fuck knows what to believe at the minute. Pictures of Sandro in a casino, reports of Zaniolo being the ringmaster and dragging Sandro in, and reports of Sando using some dodgy websites and betting online.

It is a mysteria.

Was he playing about on the dark web as well the dirty bastard?

He's an idiot if he was going on illegal betting sites whilst signed in to Chrome. Howe needs to do some intensity training with him to get him up to our pace and then do some VPN and crypto training so he can gamble illegally with impunity.
