Honestly I still believe LW has been his best position ever since Howe came in. There are a few things that makes him a little less suited centrally, but ofcourse at times he has done a job for us there aswell. I agree. I would say his best performances have come at LW. But i think his attributes overall are better suited to being a CM. He's also improves a lot with his passing and overall IQ in the midfield. Being around bruno must help. kingxlnc Posted Saturday at 06:30 Share Posted Saturday at 06:30 I like the three names from France we’ve been linked with recently David, Gomes and Cherki All are the right age and the right price if you add Guehi, Scalvini or one of the Portuguese CBs to that, we get significant strength. David and Gomes contracts end in summer, and Lyon are in financial trouble meaning we could probably get all of the four for 100m.

Nucasol Posted Saturday at 07:26 Share Posted Saturday at 07:26 (edited) Random one on the BBC Gossip column this morning. Feels like we already have the ‘project striker’ in Osula: Newcastle are in pole position to sign Algeria forward Ibrahim Maza, 18, after Hertha Berlin dropped his asking price to 20m euros (£16.65m). Geordie_once_removed Posted Sunday at 07:04 Share Posted Sunday at 07:04 I was quite excited when we signed Slimani on loan. I was also excited when we signed Seydou Doumbia, Stephen Ireland and Facundo Ferreyra on loan. It's strange that my scouting career never really got started. I am open to us playing Gordon RW and Barnes LW for a few matches to see how it works. I think Barnes does the cut in from the left and shoot as an inside forward thing better than Gordon. I think Gordons play style is very well suited to being a more traditional winger who beats his man and gets to the byline. That cross for Isak the other match. I'd like to see him play RW. I want us to sign a world class CB. I'm not banking on Botman coming back and playing like he did in our top 4 season. I'd love it but im not expecting it. Also Schar isnt young. Burn is ideally a squad player. Kelly can be cover at LB and at CB. This team would look much better with a VERY good CB. Having a depth or developmental RW would be nice. If we spend big I think it should be a CB. Maybe one of the younger portugese ones. I mean, we urgently need a RW. Because it’s not just one we need in a short space of time, it’s two. As both Almiron and Murphy really should be tracking 0 minutes 25-26 if we are to take steps forward (well Murphy could as a proper emergency RB). So need to get a top one now, then a development one. Minteh was the development one, but a too good an offer came in at a time when we needed an urgent sale.
