Framing it as our owners have overpaid to Villa for a second choice striker is daft like  They were basically both first choice strikers which is why one of them had to be sold. PSG and other sides were interested in Duran and he'd have went for a similar fee to another club.

Duran is also only 21 so was always going to command a higher fee. Still a lot to pay for someone who's having his first good season but he does look a good player.

It absolutely isn't daft. PSG did not make an offer. A club owned by our owners offered an ridiculous amount for a striker who no one else bid for at all. So if it goes through what has happened is PIF have directly given a rival of their supposed "top football priority" a direct 60m boost to piss on their own faces

He was linked to PSG and West Ham very strongly for a big fee. If it hadn't have been to Saudi, he'd have gone somewhere else. And if not him they'd have sold somebody else.

 

People need to stop getting their knickers in a twist. Particularly in this case where it's a promising 21 year old proven in the PL who is their top scorer and they've had to flog him. It's not like it's some old carthorse that they've got an inflated fee for.

 

If anything I'm glad they've sold him rather than Watkins. While Watkins is a better player right now, his value is only going to decrease.

There continues to be talk of possible exits for the likes of Matt Targett, Lloyd Kelly and Kieran Trippier.

 

But we understand that after Almiron’s move was confirmed on Thursday, no more departures are expected.

The speed we do transfers I don't think we have time to get anyone in by Monday even if we were looking, Mitchell's had a nice easy first 7 months, I bet he hasn't even took that cardboard strip off his company laptop yet

He’s had 7 starts and massively out performed his xg with some silly long rangers  Not much different to the hype of Ferguson last season or Hojlund purple month last season.

I don’t think xG is as important as some. But I think you are massively misunderstanding what it actually is and what point Sibierski is making here?
