We signed Gordon in the January 2023 window and went onto to lose a cup (within reach) the following month.

We also signed no one in the January prior to our 1955 FA Cup win, seems promising

If only the club had communicated incomings would be unlikely since December time.

Howe did say he doesn't want anyone to leave in this window

Isak's not sat on our bench most weeks though is he?

We don't have anyone sat on our bench who we can sell for £60m.

He did.

The club have been briefing no incomings for a while though, can hardly come as a shock.

Do you think Howe will be happy at 11pm tonight ?

Of course he won't. I do get the impression he's become more resigned to the fact we're stymied by PSR and he's not getting shafted by anyone but the PL. He'll probably rest his head on his Elliott Anderson pillow and weep.

Probably not. But I very much doubt he will be surprised. Nor will any anger he has will be directed at the club/Mitchell. Like the rest of us he will be pissed off at PSR.

I think that works both ways though. I had feared barring winning a trophy he would be replaced in the summer. I doubt we can afford or attract anyone better that could work in the situation we are in.

Eddie is perfect for getting the best out of players which is what we need while we can't buy top level ones as regularly as we would like and like our aspiring rivals do.

Don’t think Eddie will be too disappointed really. Think he said the primary thing was keeping the important core of players, which we have done. We’ve also peddled some fringe players, hopefully allowing for some room to spend in the summer. Next priority will be to sign extensions for Schar, Krafth and maybe Dubs, and then prepare for a bit of a creative squad overhaul in the summer.

I don't think I would extend Dubs or Schar, unless you are thinking of flipping them after the contract has been signed

I think Eddie wants them extended and I doubt we have the money to replace them on top of everything else we need (RW, already another RCB).

Keegan shifted Cole, Drysdale, Robinson and Mathie this time of year prior to the wonderful summer of 1995 and very nearly glory.

Made a transfer profit that calender year, suppose that's what we've got to hope for henceforth

Even in a world without PSR and where the only thing that matters is the club's cash flow I cannot imagine being even moderately upset or worried about either of these deals.

Agreed on Schar, not sure he’ll be that bothered about Dubs come the summer if we get a new keeper (Trafford) in.

Doubt Dubs would want to sign an extension if that were the case tbh.

If your mams say no, then we get on with it, Howe will have to do the same and start bringing on the youngsters, spuds brought 3 on the other day and they did well, Howe can't continually say, they're not ready.
