Compared to being able to watch Gordon every week and arrive at that conclusion? Don’t agree on Gordon either, FWIW. He has plenty of games where he is miles off it and not contributing. Salah looked absolute shite against PSG and us and he’s the favourite for the Balon d’Or. Isak has had games for us where he’s barely been involved. It happens. I do agree on not wanting Mbuemo at the price he’d cost. Feels like he would take up 50-75% of our transfer budget and I don’t think he is worth that at all. Wallace Posted Wednesday at 22:11 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:11 I do expect Longstaff to leave but doesn’t that only leave us with Miley as a homegrown player in Europe next year and does he even count given he is U21? Think that means we will have to do with an even smaller squad than last time in Europe.

Expand IMO it's more a sign of lazy journalism, as I have my doubts when it comes to how much knowledge a journalist for Goal has about youth players worldwide – beyond those already "known" due to being at "big" clubs, as well as those at "smaller" clubs who's had interest shown in them by "big" clubs. Just from a Norwegian perspective, they've listed Sverre Nypan at #15 – yet in reality, Sindre Walle Egeli looks an even bigger talent. Difference between the two being that Nypan has experienced clubs like Arsenal and Man City explicitly expressing interest by inviting him to visit their facilities, which in turn has been broadly covered by national and international media. Meanwhile, Egeli (less than 6 months Nypan's senior) has excelled in the Danish Superliga and already been given his debut for the national team. Yet, Egeli isn't even on the list... 54 Posted Thursday at 08:51 Share Posted Thursday at 08:51 Dean Huijsen would be a really exciting signing, and he feels like the perfect profile of player for us. Dr.Spaceman Posted Thursday at 09:21 Share Posted Thursday at 09:21 Huijsen would be class. Surely there's someone out there on the continent cheaper than him with roughly the same profile though. McCormick Posted Thursday at 09:28 Share Posted Thursday at 09:28 Huijsen is proven now and very young. You don’t get to the top by taking punts that might work out. Pay the money and give him a super long contract. The CB slot is then done for the next 5-10 years. “We should get the NEXT Huijsen!” Is something I hear a lot and it annoys me. If we’re speaking in hypotheticals why not get the NEXT Van Dijk? Sell Isak for big money and get the NEXT Isak for 20m? I’m being flippant obviously but it still annoys me. McCormick Posted Thursday at 09:36 Share Posted Thursday at 09:36 I know, I know PSR but it’s just such a lazy comment to make. Not every player has a cheaper regen you can just buy. Menace Posted Thursday at 09:37 Share Posted Thursday at 09:37 There's players to be had. If the rumours are true and we were close to signing Khusanov for ÂŁ30M then I have full faith in Mitchell/Howe to unearth a few gems for a good price. Spending ÂŁ50-60M on 1 player when there's glaring gaps over the squad isn't wise.
