If we get the right combination of shot stopping, cross killing and ball playing it would add much to our game. This of course would be more welcome if along with a new RCB, RW and striker back up. I wasn't when we got Pope, but once I saw him play the difference having him vs Dubravka was night and day. A top 'keeper is a massive difference maker. The squad situation isn't as stark now, but I've definitely got a new appreciation on the gains to be had from a goalie upgrade. Plus it would probably be our first flex of us being seen as equals to other top 5 teams in the market, rather than not in the running for players like this. I think the playing out from GK and some pace at CB are the only areas where we've significantly been weaker than the rest of the top 7 this season. He came in and was imperious until the red card. Improved us in every way and his on the ball work was less noticeable. When he got injured we felt a massive backslide in composure in defence. A marked decline in dealing with crosses and shot stopping but it became more noticeable that Dubs was better on the ball.
