NUFC Transfer Rumours

26 is peak for that position.

He wouldn't be a "bad" signing im certain of that, but as I mentioned I'd prefer a more strategic approach.

I wouldn't sign anyone who wouldn't appreciate it value at this stage.

I see where you're coming from, even if I don't agree. I need a top-notch forward, and Mbuemo's the one for me. He's got a Premier League pedigree, and his goal and assist numbers are insane. Let's just agree to disagree.

With Mbeumo, am sure if he does well for us we can ship him to Saudi for a ridiculous fee later on.

We don't need to get a crazy fee for him, we're good with the cash, but PSR headroom's the issue. Even if we move him after four years for 25 million, we'll still profit on PSR.

It's just like Almiron and Maxi, that's what we need. Think Bruno, or big Joe – they'll depreciate over the next couple of seasons. If we sell either for 30 million to the Saudis or whoever in 2028, we'll make a nice PSR profit. That's why I don't get the resale value argument.

We wanna make the Champions League every year and fight for the title, and you can't do that by selling your best players. So resale value shouldn't even be a discussion with PIF backing us.

I feel like Mbuemo is a Barnes type signing, which is no bad thing, but not the player to take us to the next level.

Finding a player who can break through a packed defence should be our priority, and Mbuemo's never been tested in that realm - he's also untested in European competition.

I'm not agaisnt signing him, his record and consistency speaks for itself but I think there's at least 3 better options out there and all cheaper and younger.

Personally don't think that has been an issue for some time.

Since December, aye, but not really my point, which is that we always need to be more incisive up top.

Furthermore if we're to stand a chance in Europe we need to consider we'll be up against well organised, higher quality defences.

I also think more teams will sit back against us next year as that gap in quality becomes more and more pronounced after what is hopefully a significant summer transfer window for us.

Not really an argument for why I don't want Mbuemo, just why my preference would be elsewhere.

Fair.

We've scored 68 goals this session (3rd highest in the league), last season 85 goals (4th highest in the league). That's been roughly in line with expected goals too.

Generally speaking, I do think we need more players who are comfortable on the ball. It'll help our overall team structure and control of games.

I don't think it's the essential trait for our right winger though. I think we're probably aiming for something like Klopp's Liverpool.

Don't know anything about him other than his highlights, but we're being linked with Martin Baturina, a Croatian attacking midfielder rated around 20-25mil. Love that we're being linked wiith this kind of signing. Really hope we are able to pick up a more technical midfielder as well.

Big profit after the underwhelming season he’s just had. No thank you.

He's been great for Brighton this year minus the red cards mind. 😂

If you strip out penalties he averages less than 1 goal in 4 full 90s.

Not someone who should be playing at a higher level than Brighton or going for more than the £30m they paid for him imo.

Just me who thinks Pedro would be a brilliant signing ?

Wouldn’t start for me if all were fit, but he’s definitely got something about him.

I like the idea of Mbuemo as we could go longer to him when required, eliminating the need for Isak to half arse aerial challenges. Sort of like Liverpool do with Salah.

Its a little bit like Cunha. Doesnt lock down any of our weak positions. Would even cost more than Cunha.
