NUFC Transfer Rumours

We sign Trafford and maybe one more. If we’re lucky. Howe must be pulling his hair out - performed near miracles with a fairly stale squad and asked for the recruitment to be quick and precise - he’s been badly let down.

Piss poor from the club so far this summer. The word rudderless has been said a few times on here because it’s absolutely spot on.

WUM?

I understand the sentiment but can he be? It's kinda obvious these are his targets.

If we know anything about Eddie Howe it’s that he’s one prepared son of a gun.

I find it very hard to believe he’s prepared a list of four targets with no alternatives.

We are already in the alternative targets tbh.

We've missed out Mbuemo, Delap, Huijsen already.

We are hunting in very crowded waters, it's very difficult.

Who said we have 4 targets like?

We've likely dozens of targets in every position.

If Huijsen was a dream signing, we'd have quickly moved on when Madrid called. You can either love the ambition or can be critical of them for missing out on targets.

Ive got absolutely no issue with anyone saying that we need 4+ players. I think that's fair. We've got aging players, the squad needs a refresh and we've got much bigger commitments this season.

It's the cry arsing about the player they want, not signing when they want them and for the price they think they are valued at.

"Another window of this bullshit". Fuck off you entitled little bellends. This is the best its ever been for me and I went to my first game in 1994.

The Internet is a wondrous thing, but it's also a dreadfully depressing thing.

Eddie's comments after Everton about us needing to move quickly have definitely set everyone's expectations that we'd have done something by now. Trafford seems to be almost done, if we can then move along one of the others by mid-July we're probably about on target with time left to work on the other 2-3.

It does feel frustrating and the constant re-hash articles from know-nowt journalists serve only to wind people up, but we've just got to trust and hope that once we get into July and a fresh PSR window, the market starts to move a bit quicker.

I hate the thought of signing DCL but on a free it allows us the extra headroom to bring in Elanga?

Plus, everyone will shut up for a bit and moan about that instead:eek:

I'd rather just keep Wilson.

Chelsea have a load of players they're going to need to shift. If we need to get some financial headroom I'd rather we enquired for a loan with an option to buy on someone like nkunku.

They have a nonsensical transfer policy and often the players they sell do pretty well after.

The reason why people get uptight is that we clearly have primary targets in our sights, and we get excited only to be disappointed when cartel clubs swoop in.

If we had secondary targets to get excited over it would lessen the blow. We probably do tbh, but we have no idea who they are, so obviously fans being fans get anxious. Our whole season rides on it, it's totally understandable.

Can we work on releasing a fake list of players we're supposedly targeting, maybe even line up some fake bids, next transfer window? So that Chelsea buys a load of shit that aren't worth the money and we were never actually interested in?

I would definitely take DCL for a free as a backup

The slander is mad.

It's almost like we don't know the impact of playing in a good side compared to a shite one.

Only a point to choose between us and Everton over the last 15 league games of last season.

It’s not mad tbf some may be over the top, but he hasn’t played well in years.

Its more a case of seeing patterns repeating themselves which gives me anxiety about this window. That and Eddie's comments about our pool of targets being very small which suggests that when our main options go elsewhere there are no real alternatives he's willing to accept.

This is what I don't understand. Why would our pool of targets be so small. Our squad is not that good at all. The clubs able to spend won't underachieve forever, we aren't going to keep up by buying 3-4 premiership lads that are 3rd choice on their list and spending 150 mil to do so. There's a massive pool, mid table clubs have been overperforming while making a profit for years by expanding their pool. The lack of signings doesn't worry me so much, the seeming lack of scope and vision does. Calculated risks need to be taken. Aside from the weaknesses in the 11, we need players who can possibly push their way in and upgrade or give different options in our strong positions. It was obvious in so many matches this year and last.
