The other side to that is even if we get someone like Sesko in? Is he the answer for a CL campaign. Probably not. We can't go into a CL campaign with Osula / Neave as our only 2 strikers. That's so far beyond inadequate. A Championship side would feel weak with those 2 and i'm not exaggerating. Agreed but at least sesko has champions league experience and scored 4 in 8 appearances last time. Which for a 22 year old having big competition experience already is a definite positive. Appreciate the come back to that is longstaff and BDB have champions league goals doesn't make them champions league standard but you get my point. captainhaircut Posted July 28, 2025 Share Posted July 28, 2025 Isak had scored 28 goals in 87 games in the last few seasons for Sociedad before we signed him. His record in Europe was pretty average (and still is with us). Sesko similar age but seems ahead of where Isak was. Feels very coachable. Wissa scored as many goals from open play as Isak did last year so he feels a very safe signing to take the pressure of Sesko in the same way Wilson did for Isak. The slog of league football might be more difficult. I think it might not be as smooth a ride as it was for Isak.
