That's part of Schrödinger's whinge though.

We get concerned when there are no links, but don't like it when links play out in public because it's probably just agent nonsense.

Rightly or wrongly we seem fully focused on the striker search. When that's done I'm sure we'll look at other areas.

Fair, massive difference in that, to what we are seeing this window though.

I actually do think we get a striker in this week tbh, probably Wissa.

Two signings this week. ST and a surprise CB.

I'm going with a safe and easy 'no one'

I think one of the biggest things we have suffered from is that Amanda was clearly brilliant at selling the club, the vision, the 'project' to players, and we miss that.

Whoever we've got doing the selling now appears to be woefully inadequate.

Beyond naivete and wilful ignorance, it's hard to see a signing before the first game of the season. It's looking like possibly a few over the last 1-2 days of the window. We're a mess.

I think out of pure necessity, we'll get the three we need in. Given how things are playing out it'll no doubt go right to the wire.

I am fine to give Osula / Neave a chance to develop, and buy a new ST during January window.

We can't be doing this in a Champions League season. Would be pretty negligent IMO.

Osula should be third choice striker and used against weaker opposition in the cups, as well as in any instances where either of the first two are out injured, when he can then be first sub for the position.

The other side to that is even if we get someone like Sesko in? Is he the answer for a CL campaign. Probably not. He doesn’t look anywhere near the finished article and there’s still a few question marks over wether he’ll even suit the prem.

However for CB, I even don’t know who is able to perform regularly except Burn.

We can't go into a CL campaign with Osula / Neave as our only 2 strikers. That's so far beyond inadequate. A Championship side would feel weak with those 2 and i'm not exaggerating.

Agreed but at least sesko has champions league experience and scored 4 in 8 appearances last time. Which for a 22 year old having big competition experience already is a definite positive.

Appreciate the come back to that is longstaff and BDB have champions league goals doesn't make them champions league standard but you get my point.

Isak had scored 28 goals in 87 games in the last few seasons for Sociedad before we signed him. His record in Europe was pretty average (and still is with us).

Sesko similar age but seems ahead of where Isak was. Feels very coachable.

Wissa scored as many goals from open play as Isak did last year so he feels a very safe signing to take the pressure of Sesko in the same way Wilson did for Isak.

Sesko has been playing in the CL for years. I'd have full confidence in him hitting stride in Europe.

The slog of league football might be more difficult. I think it might not be as smooth a ride as it was for Isak. Which is why you'd like to also have a proven PL forward signed too - like we had with Wilson at the time when we signed Isak

We won’t. There will be two strikers above them in the pecking order. A CB a CM and hopefully a goalkeeper too.

Are you genuinely confident we'll get those 4/5 in?
