Sibierski
Jacob’s is paid by Chelsea. He’ll be spouting Jackson name so it gets a club who’s interested to make a first move in fear they may miss out to Newcastle. It’s what they’ve been doing for all their outgoings. KDH linked to Fulham, then low behold, Everton pay £30m.
JigsawGoesToPieces
Can we bin Steve Nickson & Andy Howe at the end of this window and refresh the recruitment team. Both massively underperforming in the role and tbf are probably only still in a job because theres nobody else, any ther industry they would be out on their arses. I dont think having your nephew in such a senior recruitment position is not healthy, you need to have someone who can think outside of the box, challenge the manager and also be challenged. Would Andy challenge his Uncle or does he tow the party line that Eddie wants him to tow? We need to cast the net as wide as we can and stop being obsessed with premier league ready players (that includes Eddie) more data driven, to the point where we xan pull from a list of 10 players for each position accross the world and work on more than seal concurrently. Hopefully Suds can grow that in his new role. We were hoping for a transformational summer, Elanga and Ramsdale are not that IMO, now Isak has had a paddy this could end up being a nightmare if Sesko picks Man Utd as we will be down to DCL and Wissa soon 🤣 Im not convinced the Forest guy is going to be a transformational SD either if thats who we want, can see us getting stuck in the 6th-8th cycle each season with signings that improve us a little but unless we have a massive shift in the last 3 weeks can see us being miles off the pace for the CL places (bearing in mind Spurs and Man Utd cant get any worse than last season) and Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City all have better squads than us. I do wonder if PIF have lost a little interest in us, we were always going to be 2nd fiddle to any PIF owned Saudi clubs but they seem to br willingly assisting our rivals currently. gbandit
Good thinking on Nickson, let’s get rid of the man who’s made almost flawless signings for several years, including Bruno, Tonali, Botman, Isak, Hall, Tino etc

Don’t think we should bin Nickson - but he should be a chief scout, not a transfer negotiator

They are just stepping in because we dont have a CEO or a SD. Its the owners who should get all the stick, they have handled this criminal bad. nemtizz
Jackson isn’t as bad as people make out and I would have had him as backup to Isak (behind Wissa) but fuck me if he replaces him I’m finding a new hobby.

Kimbo
I like Jackson. At this point I would bid for both him and Ramos and take whichever says yes first.
Swissmag
Jackson no. But Ramos any day

Kanj
Nickson is our chief scout / head of recruitment, the only other job for him would be to make him the sporting director, which he clearly has had no desire to do.
Kanj
One of our owners has been handling all the transfer negotiations club to club, sounds like its been Jamie all summer. Jamie had a hand in all the deals prior to Ashworth too.
BrianSwan
Jackson would be a cheap alternative to Sesko, probably not much between them right now

If worse case is Jackson/Wissa I’d be OK with that. I’m more excited about the potential of Sesko and some of his rockets 🚀 ACON may be a problem! TheBrownBottle
Bidding for Jackson does have the advantage of knowing that at least Chelsea won’t gazump us Not seeing an Isak replacement there, mind

Famous Nick
I dont like Jackson. I dont think his ceiling is very high unlike Sesko or Isak when we got him. Jackson's decision making is seriously bad, and almost cost Chelsea the CL with his stupid antics of getting a red and 3 match ban. he is just not very clever. clearly Chelsea rates both Delap and J. Pedro higher than him. in a perfect summer I would have got Delap to replace Wilson and none of this Isak saga would be happening. total 30m spend on striker position and focus on the other departments. now its a compete different summer
