Seems a good signing but not sure why Dibling would go to Everton.

Maybe a loan to us with obligation to buy at a higher price than 40m next summer would be good. It gives us cover, gets his 'Lewis Hall first season' out of the way with us and allows us to future plan, get Murphy sold next summer even.

Bobby Clark sacked the club off at the first opportunity, so I wouldn’t get misty eyed about him joining. If he’s good enough and at a good price fine, but let’s not pretend he has a history, or any loyalty to the club

the club was a pile of shite with a sports direct flag sticking out the top of it at the time. He made the right decision.

From Ornstein late yesterday:

Everton have made an improved bid for Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.

Southampton are yet to respond to the offer, which is worth in the region of £40million including add-ons, but they are seeking a higher fee for the teenager, and it is expected to be rebuffed.

Everton have already seen an opening offer for Dibling turned down this summer. He is keen to return to the Premier League, having never played in the Championship, following Southampton’s relegation last season.

The 19-year-old’s contract at St. Mary’s runs until 2027 and he has also attracted interest from Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

I cant believe you bringing up players from 30 years ago. If you can't see the difference...?

PL players = less risk. Its that simple. Of course they are risky if those PL players are shite. We haven't targeted one poor player so far IMO.

Foreign players represent more risk, depending on the players you target. If you target the top tier targets Ekitike, Sesko and the ones weve already signed, Tonali, Bruno, then you reduce the risk.

You've said yourself that youd prefer to take the risk, but with respect, thats why you aren't in charge of our transfers. We cant afford a 50m or even 30m dud. It would cripple us.

We are going for the best, least risky players we can, theres plenty of time to take a risk but even then, I reckon it will be loan or someone already known to the league.

We are just as likely to get a 30/50m dud from the PL....what if Elanga turns out to be useless for us? Its not beyond the realms of possibility

One of the Youtube stats nerds, maybe Antonio Mango, came to the conclusion that Jackson "makes his own xGs" (gets into spaces, beats his man etc to create goalscoring opportunities) a ton, but just can't put them away. And Sesko was the other way round. In which case, a Jackson/Wissa pairing may just give us plenty of goals. Although it's pure stats wankery, it's somewhat plain to see in the videos of Jackson I've watched.

Jackson's better than most will give him credit for. There's this weird thing that's existed at Chelsea for over 10 years now that strikers will go there, score somewhere in the region of 1-in-2.5ish games and then be ridiculed as utter shite and go on to do well elsewhere. He's got 24 goals in 65 PL appearances.

I wouldn't be doing cartwheels at us signing him when you look at some of the other exciting names we've been linked with but I wouldn't be disappointed either. I think Eddie could improve him a lot and he'd fit the press system really well.
