NUFC Transfer Rumours

The magic number seems to have been 150 all the way through this shite, not sure why we'd decide to accept any less right at the last minute.

When respect FC come calling it’s the honourable thing to do to drop your asking price by a third, especially if it’s near the end of the window and you can’t get replacements

Would you tell someone who much you wanted for something if you weren't a particularly willing seller or didn't want to appear as a willing seller ? Its more like "how much do you want for x ?"......"make me an offer".

Add in sellers may want to use tge time frame to squeeze the maximum from any sale. There's a lot of bluff and bravado going on.

It depends, if I was determined not to sell then I wouldn’t give a number. If I was an unwilling seller but had a silly number in mind that would persuade me, and if we’re close to the deadline, I think I’d give that number. From the buyers perspective though, if you’re close to the deadline and numbers aren’t even being discussed, then this process seems incredibly high risk.

What's everyone's predictions for the end of the window then?

Isak in or out?

Will we get a striker and if so who?

I think we'll pay too much for Wissa. Isak will stay, but refuse to play. Yeah, it'll get uglier.

Jackson?

It would make sense from a PSR perspective (maybe), and Emery does like to swap players in and out relentlessly, but very much doubt that goes down well with the Villa fans.

Isak out Wissa & Watkins in is my prediction

I’d be delighted with that. Watkins could have an immense season in our set-up. Ran us ragged last season. Still rather have Osimhen though 😂

Turks only paid £65m for him they might be tempted by a 40% flip profit (£91m—doubt he would though…).

Isak is staying - 100% for me.   We cannot get a like for like replacement and I cannot see Liverpool getting close to our valuation.  I think Newcastles statement pretty much closes the door as well.

I'd rather have Wissa than Jackson, he's more of a finisher. We could get three good years out of Wissa, even though he's older, while we look for someone better. Jackson's not good enough at finishing. We might overpay for Wissa, but we should avoid Jackson, he's not a striker.
