If I was asked to join the dots then Wissa would be our first choice. After that then if Jackson deal becomes reasonable very late in the window then they’ll pivot to him IMO. Obviously won’t go for both due to ACON.

 

 

Think that's how it will go down if I had to make a guess. Wissa if possible, if not then pivot to Jackson, maybe pay a bit over the top on Jackson with the proviso he's still got a higher ceiling so might not cost us in PSR in the future.

I think it is a replacement for Wilson and we're done this window. Assuming £40-50m that would be £200m spent which was the top end of our summer budget

What you described right there is the doomsday scenario, it's exactly what Liverpool and Isak have been trying to do all summer.

Liverpool get their world class striker at a knock down price, somewhere between what they paid for an unproven, untested Wirtz and what they received for Coutinho 7 years ago.

Isak's behaviour is vindicated and a dangerous precedent is set.

The twitter shills and the cartel media wank themselves into a frenzy.

After spending all summer trying and failing to replace Wilson, we now need yet another striker a week before deadline day when all viable targets are unavailable and every man and his dog knows we have a 130m wedge burning a hole in our pocket.

 

For the reasons listed above, absolutely no sale can be entertained. Not to Liverpool and especially not for 130m.

That’s fucking stupid, and short sighted thinking, if we do that the greedy 6 will be back next summer for any of our players that have a good season. We have to stand firm for our own good, I can’t believe some of our supporters can’t see this.

I agree. They will be back for Tonali, Livramento, Gordon etc it will be a shitshow . We gotta be tough, so everyone knows Newcastle won't budge on their best players.

 

Brighton's got a reputation. You can get their top player, but at a premium price, it's their price or nothing. No deals or bargains.

 

So, the sky 6 teams, if we keep Isak and get him back in the mix playing and scoring goals, they'll get it and get it clearly. Newcastle's serious, and if we say no, we mean it. We back our words and dont budge.

So, about yesterday's striker debate. For me, Wissa's the best pick. He's a natural finisher, a goal-getter, and would score a bunch for us. He's turning 29, but a four-year deal means we get three good years and then sell him. That gives us time to find the next star.

 

Jackson should be at the bottom of the list, though. He's a winger, not a striker.

He's not a proper center forward, and his stats are just okay. Watching him play, though? Nah. Fails the eye test for me. Noone watching him play for Chelsea says thats a 60 million pound forward. 

 

We need goals this season to get into the Champions League spots again. Wissa's proven in the Premier League, fast, works hard, and is deadly. He's the best, in my opinion. JSL and Sorloth aren't bad, but we should avoid Jackson, I think.
