NUFC Transfer Rumours

One of the reasons was we wouldn't sell until we had a replacement.

We were unable to bring anyone else in for a very long time, hence the late departure.

We didn't want to sell and he was still under a contract for at least 2 years. We shouldn't have left ourselves in a position to be scrabbling around looking for replacements we weren't happy with unless we agreed a fee. Which we didn't.

Love the energy and aggression he plays with, but he's also got quality.

Good both sides and upfront. Also decent experience now at 25. Article says around £25 million.

Would be a great deal for someone. Lets see if it's Newcastle.

He plays like Gordon used to play when he could be arsed but with more end product. Pocket 80 mil for Gordon get this guy for 25.

Sorted, nothing could possibly go wrong.

Being Turkish I'm sure the lads got a red card or two "in him" but that's the same as Gordon only difference is he's likely not going to save them to try and give Liverpool an advantage!

Agreed.

But that's not something that Eddie dragged out, which was the point that someone originally made.  He wanted the situation resolved asap.

Like I said earlier, if PIF refused to sell then there would be no sale. Isak could go on strike for three months but he still couldn't force a move.

The decision to sell was down to the owners at the end of the day, although I am sure they took Howe's advice on board as well.

Reminds me of a cross between Elanga and Ryan Fraser on his highlights, looks like a baller.

wtf 😁 sounds like they should be paying us to take him if that's the case

Saw that Yilmaz in a few games and his season and like Elanga he looked to have zero football brain. Lots of running but some infuriating decision making when he could and should have been playing in Osimhen.

Never seen a football before and 4ft tall?

Didn’t the press report that Howe was happy to sell after the Celtic friendly debacle?  And it was the owners who fucked about for months.  Howe was spot on re that IMHO

Can't believe Bournemouth paid only £12m for Kroupi. He's better than anything weve got, and still a teenager.

Still though, there are no decent players at the £15m. Heard that on here all season long.

Kroupi isn't 12 or 15 million for us though is he. They'd probably have upcharged us to 25-30m.

Totally been shopping in the wrong market though so your overall sentiment, if not fresh, is bang on. It sounds like with Wilson we'll be moving towards potential over 'proven' (read: expensive).

Hopefully that actually comes to fruition.

Kroupi was signed by another club owned by the Bournemouth owner. Apparently Lorient turned down a larger bid from West Ham than they sold him to Bournemouth (supposedly £35m). It wasn't a legitimate transfer fee.

He had a year and a half left on his contract and he was at Ligue 2 L'Orient.

They weren't going to be asking 25-30 million for him from anybody man.

Bournemouth paid around £12 million with potential add ons (no word on how much).

West Ham apparently bid £15 million with up to £20 million in performance related add ons.

Howe in the presser today effectively saying he thinks six transfers were ‘too many’ last summer and would be aiming for fewer signings this summer, and thereafter. Not really jiving with many of our hoped overhauls.

Around 8/9 of Sunderland’s first XI were bought in the summer.

Really worrying that. We absolutely need two goalkeepers for a start, that doesn't leave many more additions.
