Think we need two of really good quality. Straight into the team. RW and CB.

CB. We score goals under Howe. We have 2 CBs out with an ACL and Schar is no spring chicken.

Schar + New CB then New CB + Botman for the future.

Real good question. I like Gordon Barnes on the wings. When it was manned by Murphy/Miggy I would have said RW.  Maybe Striker although Isak has to be the focus. I guess a good/great CB to split with Burn, Botman and Schar.

Yeah CB as well for me - we know we need a CB long-term: we have Schar who'll turn 33 in December, Burn who's 32 next month, Lascelles who's 31 next November and out with an ACL. With Botman also out as well - unless we have a really talented youngster we need another CB I'd say and we might as well try to get a really good one now.

Other positions of need:

I think we need a really good technical playmaker.

We need to decide what we're doing at LB.

A backup striker who can stay fit? I mean we could run with Isak, Wilson and Gordon, but if Gordon has to cover Centre forward an attacking playmaker becomes more important.

RW. I'm not convinced having Gordon on the right is a long term solution. Maybe CB if they think Minteh is ready to join the team.

Decent point about Minteh.

We are also one injury from playing Almiron or Murphy there for several games, and we all know how that works. It can work for a game or two, but it should be a priority.

I think it would have to be a CB unfortunately. Hermoso and Tosin on free transfers would do me.

For me needs to be a top CB. A long term replacement for Schar who we can bed in over the next couple of years.

Failing that it would be someone like MGW who can play RW and RCM equally as effectively. Going into next season with Gordon, Barnes, MGW and Minteh as wing options, with Murphy/Tino/Hall as emergency options is pretty good strength in depth.

CB, given how thin we are there with Botman and Lascelles' injuries.

But given that (hopefully) likely won't happen, a top quality RW is of critical priority for me as well. Nico Williams, Kubo, Gibbs-White, Whittaker amongst others. Get one of them.

All of these suggestions are great, in the 40-60m bracket. Chiesa could be added to this list too.

It depends what is classed as elite. For example Sesko as a second striker, elite or not? He is younger, and coming off a poor season.

A pacy CB is important. As is a starting LB.

A decent specialist DM even if they’re not a starter would be a good position to fill for certain games.

Gordon looks sensational on the right to me.  If Howe keeps him out there, and perhaps Minteh returns as back up, I’m wondering if we desperately need a RW.  We’ve enough options for LW in any case.

With the need to replace Botman rather than buying cover, and likely a secondary centre forward, I don’t know if RW would be the same priority.  Depends on Howe’s thoughts re Gordon at RW I think.

Gordon is 100% fine on the RW.

Kelly and Tosin free transfers, kind of solves centre back issues.

Sell miggy and bring in Minteh as cover for Gordon.

Buy a new striker and a superstar left back.

If we're looking at more attackers who can play across the front then Cunha's worth a shout.

Wolves paid £44m for him, so even if they were open to selling, I’d suggest he’s out of our price range atm.

Aye he'd cost a fair whack but I assume we won't be shopping for bargains when it comes to forwards.

not to mention Joelinton for the left.

Selection of names linked with us in The Mirror this morning, Gibbs-White the main headline name:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-psg-bruno-guimaraes-transfer-32582098

The Toon have also been monitoring Gibbs-White’s Forest team-mate, Welsh international Neco Williams who can operate in either full-back positions or in midfield, Leicester City's Kieran Dewsbury-Hall – also wanted by Brighton – and Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe.

More double barrel names than a Tory party conference.

Certainly we are not buying a left back? We got loads of options there, when we have pretty much zero options for CB and injury prone Wilson to cover for Isak. If Gordon is used at RW occasionally and Minteh seemed good enough, I would buy CB and ST. CB a starter and striker a younger cheaper one. Goalkeeper after that.

Gibbs-White I’d love, I’d say no to the other 3.
