Not to be too snobbish, but I'm always wary of signings from Scotland who tear it up for the likes of Celtic and Rangers. The jump in quality to the Premier League is immense. Van Dijk is the last one that I can remember who made the transition successfully. Don't think anyone expects him to be 'marquee'. they're taking abut a fee of about £15m. KaKa
Just seen Sporting are going to be asking £30 million for Trincao. Think someone is going to get an incredible deal there if he moves. Only 25 still but much more experienced and seasoned now, and has been so good at Sporting. This is the kind of deal we should be looking at in order to really improve the team at great value, to allow us to make a number of other moves. The fact that they're talking about a potential part player swap doesn't bode well for their chances of affording him.

Especially looking at the players they're offering. Another example that they still look at us as Ashley's Newcastle. We'll take a couple of their rubbish players they want rid of for our best player. Come back to reality Liverpool.
54
I do love it when Journalists start talking about swap deals, I swear in the Premier League, it literally never happens
Weezertron
I'm more than OK with all lower clubs pricing their talent obscenely to fuck off the traditional top 4 clubs. Even if/when we become one of the elites, I'll still think it's fine.

Optimistic Nut
Fair play, Southampton. Probably in a good state financially if they go down selling a few others. Get every penny they can.

There are plenty over the years Stuart Armstrong, Wanyama, Duncan Ferguson, Peter Lovenkrands etc etc. also have players who went to Scotland on loan who went on to be class players. Tim Krul, Kasper Schmeichel, Longstaff, James Maddison. Edited March 26 by gdm
