NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

I'm not 100% sure on Cunha. Obviously he's a class player but I keep thinking:

1. Why bring in someone like Mitchell if we're just going to end up targeting players anyone on this board could identify as a good player?

2. Why spend a huge chunk of our budget on a player who doesn't actually play very often in the position we need?

I appreciate the need for flexibility but surely we'll target a RW who can cover elsewhere rather than sign a #10 and stick him on the right?

We will be talking to the agents of dozens of players about their appetite for joining us, wage demands etc. This is one that has leaked to the press.

Why wouldn't we have a conversation about Cunha, Huijsen etc.? Doesn't mean they are our main targets.

Think he's abit better than flavour of the month like

25 goals in 58 Prem games and 11 assists. Playing in a low to mid table team as well...

People should’ve signed him last season then. He’s not changed as a player, and there’s enough red flags to avoid. He’s going to score goals playing as striker/2nd striker, regardless of the side.

Could we sign Krul, Woodman, Forster or Alnwick to use as our third choice European keeper to fill the club grown quota?

I literally did this in my current Football Manager save. Brought in Woodman, even Tavernier and Mbabu. Now got Anderson back. Kept Longstaff for donkey's years and played him about three times a season...

Not sure how we’ll fit Gibbs-White, Cunha and Delap into the same team tbh.

Chelsea are the only team who would stupid bullshit like signing Gibbs-White AND Cunha.

It's one of the other for us, if we even are able to get one of them that. I'm not so sure we will. I'll be pleased but extremely surprised.

With Trippier likely going, I definitely think we need a new 'very good' full back and it's a pretty big priority they can fill in well

We've got Tino.

But in terms of back up, I'd be happy with Walker-Peters. He's free, he's Premier League quality and can play both sides.

Tino and Hall, but after that we don't have good cover (assuming Tripper goes)

Krafth is steady and defensively solid, but wouldn't want him starting a large number of games if we are trying to be a team who wins a cup and qualifies for UCL each season

Good shout on KWP, sure there is a Palace fullback also out of contract, but I know nothing of him

I’m absolutely baffled by reading here and there where people say ”where would Cunha fit in? He wouldn’t fit in” and so on…

Looking at it from a pure footballing perspective, he walks into our team, as well as making those around him more dangerous . As a team we would improve massively by having someone like him. He would be game changing for us .

He is extremely versatile and would also make us much less predictable in so many ways. We need more technical ability and X factor in the team. He has great pace and good physical attributes and more importantly, end product.

62m is obviously a lot of cash, but imo he would easily be worth it. iF he did sign for us I could see him going up another level or two as well. Imagine the extra space players like Gordon and Isak and others would get by having him in and around. Never mind a closer progressive forward pass for Tonali and Bruno.  Eddie would easily get the team flow with him in it, no fixed positions as on paper.

Ive been so so impressed by him for years, but back then he used to do everything great but that last little bit was missing then.

We need players on par with what the top 2/3 have. We have a handful at the minute, the more the better. Obviously it's nice to get unknown gems who we can develop, but if we have a chance to sign 2-3 proven quality and can afford it then it's a no-brainer.
