NUFC Transfer Rumours

Mbeumo and Guehi only 25 and 24 years old respectively. Every chance Howe improves them and their resale value as such.

I'd be delighted with both.

Both turn 26 and 25 respectively this year and so are coming into peak age territory. Do they have potential ceilings to improve under Howe like others of course they do. However we aren't paying low reported fees for them could end up being 100m outlay to get them both.

I was looking forward to Mitchell getting us under 23s for sub 30m turning them into the next thing as our income is still so far behind we need to get used to selling selected players.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at either by the way just worry it's eating into our budget and we back to being skint again.

Leave or not we dont have the quality or players to compete in CL and Pl. The midfield will be burnout by christmas as Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton will play everything. the back ups are not fit for purpose.

I'm not keen on the current backup options either.

Just not certain Howe feels the same way.

Also have to bear in mind that Howe has recently also said he isn't keen on sweeping changes, but just making a few key signings.

He’s hesitant to start anyone but the big 3. He’ll want another quality player in there I’m sure. He doesn’t trust Willock, Miley or Longstaff.

If Guehi and Mbeumo are true, that's a solid start. That means a solid first choice XI.

We then focus on Trafford or Garcia, would be happy with either.

Backup CF and CM depth is crucial. This may cost another £50-60m.

Already looking at a 200M spend, without a Tonali / Isak level player coming in. (I would classify Guehi and Mbuemo as Gordon level players, Garcia/Trafford as Tino/Hall level players).

Depends what is happening with the outgoings - Wilson is gone, Longstaff, Willock, Lascelles, Targett and Trippier.

Lots to replace depth wise just to get bodies in. Which is why I don't mind the free market so much - Gomes, David, DCL, Tah, Sane, Walker-Peters/Lamptey etc, wages notwithstanding

Only if someone leaves I reckon.

Howe just last week:

“I think we do have depth, it depends on the position, really, how much depth. If you look at our midfield, for example, when everyone’s fit, I think we’ve got six top-quality midfielders for us to pick from – that’s an area of real strength for us.”

I’m not sure he means it though, he’s changed formation the last few weeks whilst we had Willock, Longstaff and Miley on the bench.

Yeah, guess we'll see how it plays out.

We also kind of need a right fullback, don't we? Livra can cover LB if Hall gets injured, but that leaves ut with Trippier or Krafth at RB. I have some doubts about Trippier being able to stay fit. He seems to get injured way more often in his older years. I'm not sure we can rely on his performances to stay on a high either. Krafth is fine defensively, but there's a pretty big gap between him and Livra. We ended up playing Murphy at RB towards the end of this season. Next season there will be a lot more games.

You can never really solve every weakness in one window, there’ll generally be something that’s in need of improvement. Even Liverpool have that.

We’ve done brilliantly in the market since the takeover and I’m sure that will continue. As long as we have the money for it.
