NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

I'd say that top 6 is the best we could aim for at current. Consistent Europe is important, even if the flavour is Europa. I say that from a football perspective, rather than financial.

If we can get 3 more in, then Howe could pull his usual miracle.

We have money to spend and Howe isn't a dopey cunt.

He has been first to quite a lot of our news this summer tbf. Of course he sensationalises most of it. He does clearly have info from the club though.

Top 4 is miles off at this point.

I agree. Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all strengthened massively and even Man Utd have really upgraded their biggest problem last season - their forward line. Spurs have upgraded their biggest problem last season - their manager. We are really fortunate Villa aren’t in a position.to strengthen at the moment.

if anyone thinks top 4 is realistic with a champions league campaign they are off their head (unless things massively change of course)

Ive never had any issue with Isak leaving, its the timing and manner of his potential exit which is disgusting.

How hard would it have been for him to sit down and tell the club he'd stay one more year and he'd sign a contract for more money but only if he had a fair release clause next summer?

He'd have had my blessing and left a legend.

Also, if he'd done that, he'd have a better club than Liverpool sniffing.

100%, I thought once we secured Champions League that he'd stay for next season and then possibly be off.

That Hope article feels very much "Slow news day, better put something else out there thats negative, can't let them numbers drop".

Guy has churned out articles on this tour that have contained ZERO substance. Guy is useless.

Hope is accurate with his reporting (mostly) but his interpretation is often sensationalist and negative.

One man's unrest in the camp, is much different to anothers and Hope plays on that grey ambiguity to create stories.

Im absolutely sure there is some restlessness amongst the squad over Isak and the lack of signings but that's a million miles from a lack of harmony, cohesion and team spirit. We do need to be careful though.

Yeah I was resigned to him leaving next year to somewhere like Barca.

My head had PSG. With Mbappe gone and their rise, he'd be perfect. He'd no doubt win the league and probably a CL, he'd also have time for another move elsewhere in a couple of years.

I think it's crazy from him. I could have understood Man City if they'd shifted Haaland and they wanted the next main man to be Isak. I could have stomached that. Not Liverpool, never Liverpool.

The negativity is well over the top, things seem fucked because Isak has fucked our transfer plans up, and we've went from looking like a club trying to challenge for the title (Isak & Ekitike up top, Trafford, Scalvini etc) to a one probably just challenging for top 4. We'll sign players and be better by the end of the window than we are now, it's just a kick in the teeth that our ambitions have fallen on their face a bit.

Think that's why Liverpool jumped in on Ekitike tbh, they couldn't risk us having him and Isak on our books. This has a knock on effect with our top players when they see other players choosing the cartel clubs consistently, then they realise it could be years before we are at that level. They want glory now while they are at their peak.

Strand Larsen

I really like Stand Larsen but as a Wilson replacement, not Isak. Hes also just signed for Wolves permanently this year right?
