NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Do we really think the club would take a risk with someone with a dodgy betting background again?
We have been stung once and you know as soon as we signed him "new evidence" would come out.

Also even if none of that was relevant, he wouldn't come to us with others likely sniffing around, plus if he is fully innocent and was close to joining City for £80m previously, why would West Ham suddenly drop that price to £25m?

Non starter. Bruno just pleased for his best mate.

50M on Paqueta when we desperately need two strikers and a centre back, no thanks. He wouldn’t even start for us.

He would, like. Joelinton has missed 29 games in the last 2 seasons for one.

But get me both. And the rest. We can challenge on every front with a bit of luck.

Wissa, Barnes, Gallagher, Murphy, Paqueta, Trippier, Schar on the bench? We can challenge.

Let me not get ahead of myself. We are 5-10 years away from that type of squad if ever probably.

Going for a CB or a CM at all feels like a pipe dream right now.

It'll be him just supporting his Brazilian colleague.

More than just international colleagues, they’ve got a proper bromance going on haven’t they

Before he signed for the Hammers wasn’t Paqueta spotted up here chilling in Bruno’s garden in the off-season, or summat like that

If he's been cleared I don't see the issue?

I think we all saw the toll it took on him, so even if he's got away with one, I can't imagine he'd ever do this again. He's touching his peak years, can play two positions, and put up decent attacking numbers prior to the betting stuff (in fact his numbers last year weren't atrocious once you dive past the superficial stats).

This summer has shown we need to be nimble and a tad opportunist. Our rivals have done that to snatch targets from us. It would be funny to see an all Brazilian midfield, but if the lad needs a pick me up, nothing like a move away from the bright lights to live with two compatriots that love Jesus and working hard.

Personally I would love him here. Would fit in with our middle 3 perfectly I feel. But I just don't see it for many reasons, such as the one's I mentioned above.

It'd be a gamble

In place of who? Joelinton? Well agree to disagree.

He would for me but that depends on the game/opposition assuming both were fit, which is why we need to be building a squad. Against bigger sides in the PL and CL, Joelinton goes in for me. Against lesser sides whom we may need something extra to break down, that'd be when Paqueta comes in.

We don't have a best side, it just depends who we're playing. Joelinton is perfect against a top side where we need to fuck them up in midfield, pretty redundant against a team where we're dominating possession. Paqueta is the perfect inverse of that.

Not that I think we have the slightest chance of getting him even if we were in for him mind.

Yeah I can see that. A “playmaker” to help break down the low block, something we struggled with last season. We don’t seem to ever get linked to such players though.

They have different attributes so use them as needed in differing  situations. I'd include Bruno in there as well.

Well they’re very different. But if Paqueta is judged on creative output his numbers at West Ham are nothing stellar. 12 goals, and 9 assists across 92 appearances. Obviously there’s more to it than that, but still, based on the hype I’d expected more.
