NUFC Transfer Rumours

Classic line at the end "Right now, I can’t really see the light for Newcastle, not when every day brings another cloud.".

It hasn't been a good summer but that's an insane line. We're coming off a cup win and have been in the Champions League 2 of the last 3 seasons

Isak feels that Mitchell went back on a promise made by others for him to be rewarded with a new contract last summer. It should be said, though, Mitchell’s decision made business sense - Isak had four years to run on his deal and was already earning around £150,000 a week.

Made business sense but not football sense.

That is exactly the reason why I hate Craig Hope. All of that is conjecture, and is purposefully being “reported” that way in order to stir the fanbase.

Just like last season when he claimed Trippier was flying home from New York to push through the Bayern transfer. Absolute bullshit (from very close to Tripps). Just like last season when he claimed Gordon wanted out. Absolute bullshit (from the horses mouth).

There’s zero evidence that Isak is even disillusioned with the project, let alone other players. Any that I’ve had contact with over the last few months have been nothing but loving life. I find it very hard to believe there’s some big uprising going on behind the scenes.

I don't think Hope is close to anyone at the club now Longstaff has left.

There apparently is unrest right thru the dressing room. Our best and only striker wants to leave, we have 7 keepers and 4 fit midfielders, we’ve been rejected about at least 7 or 8 players, there’s zero leadership structure at the club and our current list of targets is a wolves striker that only signed for wolves 2 weeks ago and no defender, I don’t think it’s an insane line at all. It’s a complete and utter shambles and a complete and utter let down of a summer

So players aren't signing because the training ground isn't sorted yet? [emoji38]

Players believe in the project at Man Utd instead?

@oldtype made the point the other day that everyone seems to be strengthening this window and we're competing with clubs who can afford more wages in a way we weren't before.

He’s refusing to train isn’t he ? It’s not a massive leap to suggest he’s disillusioned.

I don't believe that for a minute, Eddie and Mad Dog spend to much time on squad harmony

If you told me a month ago Isak wasn’t happy and wanted out I wouldn’t have believed it either

Craig Hope was pretty much ideal to cover Newcastle during the tenures of McClaren and Bruce.

He wasn't afraid to stand up to them and possibly welcomed a stadium ban just to add to his notoriety.

He absolutely had Alex Bruce on strings at one point.

However he is totally unable to pivot to a positive mindset when the club is on a upward curve.

He could be following instructions from his editor, as he does write for the mail, but I doubt it.

Is he ? He's training alone given the squad is in Korea, sensibly not at Benton - could you imagine the media scrum.

We'll know the real situation next week when the full squad returns.

Isak wants a pay rise, TBF he deserves it, that does not mean there is unrest right through the squad.

I’m not saying there is or isn’t. I’ll just wait and see what happens. Plenty people on here when Isak got sent home from Glasgow convinced themselves all was fine and he’d be on the flight to Singapore. Can only go with what Hope has wrote and hope he’s wrong

It’s just disappointing to be repeatedly gazumped. Really would not read too much more into it. Beyond the corporate corridors being like the Marie Celeste!  (Which might explain, to some extent, the repeated gazumping).

The negativity is well over the top, things seem fucked because Isak has fucked our transfer plans up, and we've went from looking like a club trying to challenge for the title (Isak & Ekitike up top, Trafford, Scalvini etc) to a one probably just challenging for top 4. We'll sign players and be better by the end of the window than we are now, it's just a kick in the teeth that our ambitions have fallen on their face a bit.

Hopes article is depressing but probably a very true summary of where things are at. Eddie is seriously getting off lightly mind if he is now pushing the Wolves striker.

It’s starting to beggar belief.

They all have to take their fair share of the blame for how this window has gone, Eddie included.

Top 4 is miles off at this point.

How? We'll have a better squad than last season where we nearly finished 2nd. We can learn from Villa and strengthen in Jan if we need more fuel in the tank for Europe

There is no guarantee at this point that we will have a better squad. If Hope is to be believed, we aren’t CM isn’t a priority, and we aren’t actively looking for a CB.

We have money to spend and Howe isn't a dopey cunt.
