NUFC Transfer Rumours

I'd say that top 6 is the best we could aim for at current. Consistent Europe is important, even if the flavour is Europa. I say that from a football perspective, rather than financial.

If we can get 3 more in, then Howe could pull his usual miracle.

With Isak gone, I think a few seasons of long runs in Europa would be mint, winning it ideally.

Yeah I was resigned to him leaving next year to somewhere like Barca.

The problem there is that Barca have no money, Madrid seem happy enough to let players wind down their contracts/exploit release clauses and PSG are not spending like they used to.

Between those three clubs there has only been one player, Bellingham, bought for more than 100 million euros in the last five years.

If he was going to one of them now, we wouldn't be half as bothered as we are about Liverpool.

£50M on Paqueta is a gamble.. especially when you have Tonali already

Where's £50mil come from? I read reports £30mil - tbh I would pay the £50mil as he'd be a great addition.

I said this weeks ago I don’t think he’ll have many options at the price we want. I think he ends up at Liverpool wether it’s the summer or next

I reckon Eddie has reservations about all the players left on our infamous transfer list.

I would gut the entire recruitment team after the window shuts. Or at least some kind of internal review with changes/additions made.

Barca will have money next season once they are back in Camp Nou after it's redevelopment.

How? We'll have a better squad than last season where we nearly finished 2nd. We can learn from Villa and strengthen in Jan if we need more fuel in the tank for Europe

I think the big 4 ahead of us have significantly improved

Wissa is the most proven of all of those.

Maybe so but ceiling blah blah etc. he’ll be 29 by our 3rd game of the season. Also Pedro is more than proven himself even tho I’m not his biggest fan

They have. It’s not even in question. We’ve fallen behind in a matter of weeks

The problem is that even if they were to have poor seasons they’d go into the summer window next year and do it all again. Even if we have another season where we perform well above the overall squad’s level there’s every chance we have another poor window next year. This was the one where we were meant to go for it, if we can’t make this one work then I’d be amazed if Howe can do another season on the bounce of massively over-performing. So it’s hard to imagine we’ll have more pull next year compared to this one unless something huge happens this August

Wild we started off trying to get Pedro & Ekitike and now it’s wissa and strand Larsen

I understand the emotional come down. I was stoked to be linked to Ekitike, obviously, but in reality the players that got us into the Champions League twice in the last three seasons have been the Dan Burns and Murphys and Halls of the squad as much as the Isaks. We have a manager that can really get the best out of people.

I’m all for adding players like Wissa and Muinz to this squad and seeing what Eddie can get out of them.

Muniz would be a poor signing.

Frightening with an extra 8 games this season. Even worse when you consider one of those midfielders is Willock.

And midfielder is not a priority if we believe Hope.
