NUFC Transfer Rumours

Why did we bother fighting that loan move rule of we’re never going to loan anyone from Saudi?

I always thought Eales just dropped the stone in the pond to take the piss and see what the other clubs would do about it and that we never had any serious intention of doing it. Sure when he said it there was a vote a couple of weeks later

the Jackson rumours very troubling. he is really not a great striker. no way Chelsea would buy Joao Pedro and Delap and happy to let Jackson go if he was all that great.

honestly rate Nunez higher than Jackson, at least Nunez ripped defences apart in Portugal. also both Delap and Pedro is better than Jackson.

also Jackson off the African cup of nations for 6 weeks mid december crucial games in that period with Osula upfront? no thanks.

its not just big fat shit 6 takes all our targets but want us to have their deadwoods too?

Yeah I don't want Jackson. I'd rather Wissa and Ramos is an easy get if we have to. I think Jackson is more media than anything. If he was cheap I could see it working under Eddie to an extent to close out games. Or say Isak and Jackson at 35M

The optics of all these rejections is probably the worst part. Seems like a lifetime ago this was dubbed the most exciting project in world football.

Needs a massive reset somehow, this summer has been hugely damaging to the clubs ambitions.

You say that but they bought multiple centre halves last summer, then loaned out Chalobah, who then ended up playing a load of games for them in the second half of the season. Anyone thinking there’s a coherent plan beyond "we've gotta sign all the young players" at Chelsea hasn’t been paying attention for the last three years

If we pay anything over 35m for Jackson we're doomed.

If its the 80m touted and we let Isak go like soft shites for anything under 140m, we're idiots and the game is fucked.

For the record, I think Jackson, would do ok in this team.

I also think McGinn would be a good short term support in midfield. A safe head to drop in post CL games to rest the trio.

I would not be paying anymore than the 12m Longstaff went for though.

Overall, this window has been a car crash, its predictable, so fucking slow and the same list Howe had in his interview hitlist of players I imagine.

To someone else point above, it just seriously lacks any sort of creativity or variety.

I think these transfer muppets on Twatter paid now by Chelsea to write the Jackson/Newcastle stories to whip up interest.

One last point - I see Howe as the magic sauce. Our advantage - how he improves players.

So I'm sure any signing will be surprisingly better than we see them now. The system is key and how each player plays in that, mean's I have confidence in whoever he picks to come in.

I just wish he would take a gamble on foreign talent more and improve that...

We still need a Wilson replacement. Even I am changing my mind on DCL and I've been dead against it. Beggers can't be choosers though.

I've been looking for other strikers around 30-50 million. Here is a small list, but I could easily make it even bigger. All have very good stats.

Vangelis Pavlidis

Clayton

Samu

Alex Sorloth

How's about getting Ayoze Perez back?

Oihan Sancet

Javi Puado

Jonathan Burkardt

Ermiden Demirovic

Moise Keane

Mateo Retigui

Daizen Maeda

Joel Piroe

Borja Sainz

Louis Munteano

Evander

Benjamin Kallman

Cyriel Dessers

Emmanuel Emegha

Kalimeundo.

I'm currently 'between jobs' so I'd be up for a YTS scouting position.

Loads of possibilities. Food for thought.

So why had we bid a similar amount for Ekitike prior to any noise about Isak leaving, if we're skint then?

I know we've been unsuccessful so far but ffs you can’t suggest we haven’t been putting substantial bids in for players all summer

Ekitike was an upgrade for Wilson, not a replacement for Isak. He could have played alongside him, or played on his own to give Isak a rest. He was clearly a sign of ambition that sadly did not happen.

Others may disagree, but that's what footie forums are for innit.

If you believe the Athletic etc we knew Isak wanted out for months maybe the plan was buy Ekitike and sell Isak. I’m not buying for one minute we wanted both at same time. Same with Pedro.

we appear to have bent ourselves double trying to facilitate Isak leaving to the detriment of our window. It’s very strange

If that was the case, Liverpool would have know about Isak wanting to leave. So why buy our replacement? Knowing that by doing that, Isak becomes less likely to be allowed to leave.

I don’t believe that. I think Isak wanting out since last season fits with them trying to find a replacement. Isak only spat the dummy publically when Ekitike signed for Liverpool. We’ve spent half the window trying to replace Isak. Why?

I also don’t believe we have the capacity to spend the amounts on Ekitike without an Isak sale. Nothing we’ve done suggests other wise. All big bids have been on a forward. We haggled for a few million for Trafford for a year, we don’t appear to want to spend over £40m on a defender and even less on a midfielder.

Coz they want both and will likely get both. As much as they are cunts they’ve played this perfectly

isak has checked out. I’ll be amazed if we dont land on someone and ‘reluctantly’ let him leave

People saying "we shouldn't spend more than £35/40m on Jackson" - what world are you living in. They signed him for £35m two years ago, he's got 34 goal involvements in 2 seasons and he's just turned 24. £35m would be an absolute fucking steal

Yeah but 80 million is the figure quoted. 35/40 million fine.
