The excitement has been extracted from like all high profile signings now that's the thing. It no longer comes out of the blue. It's literally like:

OK - scenario NUFC lair beneath Fenham - Yasir, Big Eddie and The "Nickson" are discussing transfers. OK boss, says Nickson, the hares are running we've got the fuckers going after- Pedro, Ekitikekekeke, Sesko, Mbeumo, Delap - we now move for our real targets - Mwahahahah. Then I woke up Doh!

In fact, scratch that. The only signings that would excite me would be a CEO, Director of Football, Head of Recruitment and an army of spreadsheet shagging scouts.
