NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Miley has looked so good at the base of midfield in the pre season that he should not be going anywhere on loan. No chance.

He should get a good amount of game time covering that position.

Ramsey coming in should be able to provide similar to what Joelinton does in that LCM position.

What would be great is another option to play the RCM role and provide similar to what Bruno does, and from what I've seen of the midfielders we've been linked with, the Kenneth Taylor guy looks like he comes closest.

A backup midfield 3 of Ramsey, Miley and Taylor would be a drastic improvement to what we've had previously.

It would certainly mean we need the Isak money if we want to try and sign a "purple" again in this or future windows I suspect.

We always would have to sell one of the big players to move forward, just during last season, Isak was 100% at the bottom of that.

His stance this summer has now made him disappointingly number 1 guy, but giving we missed out on top targets, we can’t afford to sell him this summer. It’s better next summer even if it’s £100m rising to £115m because it gives us time to scout his replacement and how we spend that money on the correct purple.

Rushing that in final week of this window can set us so far back.

I was told last week that we wanted two midfielders, but whether we get them both is another question.

After Ramsey, I feel we still need one more. Our physical presence in midfield drops off significantly when Big Joe ain't around. Obviously he is quite unique so would be keen on someone in the Gallacher mould who can also play a bit

Overspend this season hedging that we'd bank 100-120 mil for Isak next summer, possible?

This is what we should be doing, we have a very saleable asset that wants out, it makes zero odds if we overspend now so long as we recoup next summer by selling him anywhere but the dippers.

We could well end up recouping less than we should if clubs know we have to sell against a deadline. It's a balancing act.

Or if he gets perma-crocked due to a "friendly challenge" during training by a pissed-off colleague, tbf.[emoji38]

If we buy Wissa for £35m then yes. Unless we sell Isak of course

We're selling him at some point, right? It doesn't matter if we do that now or next summer does it? Surely the later we can manage the better.

How much did we have to spend?

No idea, and when journalists do report it they are only believed when the figure is high.

We were told that we were free to spend this summer and has no worries about FFP due to the low spend last summer, so I was expecting a net spend of between £100 and £120 million. Which seems to be about where we are with Wissa and Ramsey.

I reckon we can get Jackson on a loan to buy if certain targets are met. Only issue would be the AFCON. Isak I would send on loan somewhere abroad for a decent loan fee to tick over until next summer.

I said the other day that we could do worse than offering Isak to PSG on loan and asking for Ramos on loan in return, with an option to buy.

Isak would have to be terrible to lose his value in France and a perfect place to put him in the shop window.
