Gordon isn’t ideal, but I’d rather have him as a 2nd striker if it meant we signed someone like El Khanoussi who can provide something different in our attack.

Then evaluate a long term striker to work with Woltermade for January.

I get where you're coming from and I agree we need a creative midfielder but all told through an entire season or at least to Jan first I’d rather have a striker to put away chances if it was between the two.

I think Willock, Murphy, Trippier and Barnes will have to be the next to move on. January or end of season. Replace them with some genuine quality.

I agree with all but Tripps.

As good as Murphy was last season and I do think he’s class, realistically we may have missed our chance to shift him on for decent money. He’s 30 and won’t be hitting the same goal contributions as last season. Similar to when Miggy’s purple patch really.

Willock’s been pretty toilet for while now. The drop off when he comes on is mental. At this point I’d take anything we could get for him, he’s not going to get a run in the squad long enough to deal with whatever issues he’s had for the last few seasons.

Barnes is a weird one, usually takes a run of games to get going, but I just think his all round game aside from scoring the occasional banger is a bit meh. So far this season whichever right back he’s been up against has been relatively comfortable.

There’s no real resale value in Trippier, might as well keep hold of him. Especially since he’s so influential behind the scenes and once Lewis Hall gets more game time, inevitable that him and Tino will be our started full-backs. Ideally he transitions to a coaching role with us once he’s finished playing.

I’d even have Leao if needs be, a goalscorer LW to balance out Gordon through middle. If we’re going from Isak who can score 20+ in league to Woltemade / Gordon who can score 15 between them, we can replace the goals from outwide. Multiple areas of pitch we can score from, not just striker.

In our games so far, whilst striker finishing has been a point, we’ve not looked a goalscoring threat either from wide areas / midfield in open play.

We’re keen on a player from Leipzig. There were talks on Friday.

I’m guessing there’s currently ‘talks’ about lots of strikers though.

In the early days of the Wissa interest, Openda was mentioned as an alternative option that we'd look at if the Wissa deal didn't go through.

I think we've tried everything to get at least one striker that has Prem experience, but it's very late in the day now, so wouldn't be surprised if we are now looking at options outside the Prem for the second striker we sign.

Think there's also something in the Dovbyk talk as there was news a straight loan bid already went in for him last week.

It’s Nusa

Wish to God you're ITK. Barnes sold and Antonio Nusa signed would be another out-of-the-blue delight IYAM. I'd actually even entertain Gordon out and Nusa in.

Go for Max Bieir (Brentford interested) 6ft tall, 22, German International would settle in nicely with us having Woltemade here maybe get him at a decent price.

He fits as second striker (more like number 10) or if you play with two 10’s and lone striker, then as another one of those 10-positions (with wing-backs). Does not fit winger or lone striker. Can’t see how he would fit our play especially with Woltemade and I think we need straing-forward goal scoring striker.

Is Openda an out and out striker? Since Woltemade is considered more of a 10 I would think we need a Wissa type who gets on the end of stuff rather than another deep lying forward. I know nothing about Openda FWIW.
