In which universe timeline is Tino sold for 1.2m more than Elanga and Wissa were bought for?

An insulting offer.

Unfortunately if we use the transfer fees of Elanga and Wissa as barometers for good or bad value, we will think we have been done on every transfer [emoji38]

I'd take £55m - £60m for him, he's always injured and not the best going forward.  Sell him now, bank a nice profit and recycle the cash into some young (20-22 yr old) talents we can develop.

We have had a habit of not selling players at the right time, we need to start being prepared to let people go and use the resources to build to the next level.

Yeah, we'll use that in negotiations for sure. "If we had to pay 55m for Wissa, then surely Tino is worth atleast 100m." That will do the trick.[emoji38]

Would have been devastated if he left last summer. But I think his stock has fallen massively and he has spent half the season looking half fit and/or uninterested or injured.

Had one decent run in the side at right back this season, he is far better on the left and his one on one defending has suffered, too. Whether he has been struggling to get up to speed or playing through knocks, I don’t know. But he used to seem impossible to beat.

He also has a very annoying habit of switching off at the back post. Very reactive and not proactive with his defending.

I’m sure he could get back to form. But if the rumours are true that he doesn’t want to sign a new contract. Then we should just try and cash in on him this summer.

Completely agree - I don’t think the lad has kicked on or developed in the way we might have hoped.  I suspect if he played for a smaller club he wouldn’t be in the England reckoning at present.  It is worth selling him when there’s time left on his contract and there would be interested parties with the cash.

He is following Botmans route - trying to drum up external interest to see if he can get a big move to the contenders. And if he failed, he would ask for a big pay rise to stay here.

You can kinda sense that Isak, Botman, Tino and Gordon shared similar vibes.

Yep, we were always a ‘stepping stone’ to them - but then, they were always sellable assets to us.  That we haven’t been particularly ruthless sellers is more the issue.

His latest IG post a realisation he isn't going to move and fans are pissed off with him?

Some context would be helpful. My missus has banned me from IG.

If we're being honest, he's not played well enough to get a big move.

Some of that is injuries, which isn't his fault, but when he's been on the pitch we've not seen the rampaging defender we first signed. Hopefully he gets his head down, less games to play, and kicks on next season.

If he's staying, ability wise he's good enough to be our starting right back with someone else challenging him hopefully, but it's not the ability that's the problem is it.

Not only is he extremely injury prone but it would appear he's had someone in his ear, will we get his best next season?
