He's a wingback and need space ahead of him, plopping an orthodox winger in Murphy ahead of him in that space isn't ideal at all.

Not to mention a winger that can't take on and occupy defenders, so that Tino can overlap and be played in.

That RW position is causing all kinds of issues, and has continuously been ignored.

Tino isn’t ready. Stop kidding yourselves. Hes half asleep defending, he’s misplacing simple passes constantly, his recovery pace to cover isn’t there, his crosses aren’t there. So yes, we want to promote and give chances to youth, but Hall is taking his chance. Tino hasn’t this season. Selling trippier wasn’t ever on guys, there wasn’t ever a bid from Bayern for 12m. It was false shit.

Tino needs to show his unquestionable talent on the pitch.  That is on him.

how is that bollocks? He’s unbelievably talented but he’s a massive weak link this season. He hasn’t looked anything like the the lights out defender from last season, his ball carrying is non existent, his passing is sloppy. Hes switching off defensively. Calling a spade a spade.

One of the reasons I wanted to shift on tripper is so we could keep Elliot Anderson and not sign a terrible goalkeeper for 25m

 Of all of our issues you think sacrificing Trips and keeping Elliot Anderson would've made a difference?

He should’ve done a lot better for their goal as well tbh. Think he’s been really poor this season which has surprised me.

Not sure he did as bad as is being made out tbh. Him and Hall were having to come across and cover the central defenders mistakes, they risked taking out the player and conceding a pen if they dived in last ditch from that angle, you could see they were both wary of that.

If you go off the first 117 pages he should be starting ahead of Trippier. He has the potential to be world class and as a by product be England's starting right back for the next 15 years.

If you go off his performance against Brighton, he's the Portuguese Stephen Carr.

Young player struggling in a struggling team. Nowt special there.

He's had a bumpy start to the season, like 90% of the squad.

He'll turn it around and become, like TBG said, England's starting RB.

He has for most the season had to deal with Murphy and Longstaff in front of him, no wonder he's not been good.

Certainly not close to our weakest player though.

Whether it's a lack of confidence or by instruction, I wish he tried to take on players more often to disrupt the oppositions structure. Seemed like he went past players for fun last season. Think he dribbled past one player once against Brighton and can't remember him doing it otherwise this season.

He's not exactly a technician. His passing is quite poor and he rarely crosses the ball so assume that's not a strength of his either, so play to his strengths. Let him take on players, and take advantage of his pace by making runs into the box so he can put a 45 pass back to one of the front 3.

He’s not a passing right back, his game is carrying the ball forward. He needs a better RW, someone he can offload the ball to and then support once he gets it up the field.

according to fbref, he has not completed a single cross or carry into the penalty area so far this season. Also has the lowest shot creating actions p/90 of all full backs in the league. Also the highest amount of mistakes leading to an opposition shot

I've been shocked at how poor he's been because he is an obvious talent.

He is a very good 1 v 1 defender.  Neto had a good game, but at the same time.  Tino did a good job against him for the most part and actually kept pace with him a couple of times.  The first goal was some poor defending all round and also a quality pass from Palmer to carve us open.

Carries the ball forward well but goes a bit headless chicken when he gets near the box.  He lacks quality with his passing from deep and we badly miss Trippier's progressive passing.

"massive weak link"?

Ball-carrying non-existent? First goal yesterday...

In terms of key stats such as balls recovered per game, number of times he has been dribbled past and clearances per game, he's ahead of Malo Gusto this season.

Absurd over-reaction.

to be fair I said that 8 days ago  and then Smal's post even further validates the stats.

Im gasping for Tino to be the version of him last season, mate. I want our players doing well, any and all of them. I prefer that to waffling about it on here.
