Totally agree. It just feels more natural to Lascelles. Lascelles has a better burst of pace and is better in the air.

MrRaspberryJam
Don't think he had a bad game, just unfortunate to get a yellow.
Groundhog63
Got a shit yellow, was just stronger, off a ref that let them do what they liked. Unlucky
The Prophet
Wonder if his obligation to buy is conditional or automatic? I like what I've seen so far. Still raw, but there's a very good footballer in there.
AyeDubbleYoo
Think the lack of yellows in the game shows the ref knew he’d given a really soft one and needed to row back. Hall was good, he was very unlucky to be sacrificed.

vicente_14
Booking aside, which was ridiculous! showed some nice touches, going to be a really top player.
Hanshithispantz
I think it was a yellow tbh, quite soft for a first offence before the 10th minute but it was a dangerous attack and Hall pulling that big ugly fucker back stopped it. The rest of the game was honestly near enough how I would want a game to be officiated. Dortmund were clever with their fouls but I don't think they ever overstepped the mark. Geordie Ahmed
He did okay, that yellow really made it difficult for him, meant he was extra cautious with any challenges Considering the lack of bodies we have I would like to see him given a go in midfield if we are really short or even left wing, he played LWB against City in the League Cup last season and he was inverted a lot and he was the best player for Chelsea

I'm not so sure about that, the one on Longstaff in particular was from behind, so was both dangerous and stopped a clear attack, that was far worse than what Hall did, which to me looked more like they were both pushing each other

The Longstaff challenge was a blatant yellow, aye. Bad call but on reflection of the whole game I don't think there was any bias. I never felt jipped by many of the on field calls and if anything we got slightly more of the 50/50s. I agree about the calls he made, felt he did well and he allowed some robust but fair challenges for both sides It's just once he has decided to give Hall a yellow then he needs to be consistent with it and they had at least 2 tackles/fouls (which weren't first offences for those players) that he didn't give a yellow for

RodneyCisse
Unlucky with the early yellow, was like Hannibal against us where they have to be so careful/less physical thereafter.
Upthemags
Thought he played well given the circumstances. I wish Eddie would have boosted his ego a bit more in the post game conference. Said he was "ok," which was a bit strange from him, as he is almost always very positive on player performances. Kept perhaps the fastest winger in the world relatively uninvolved on a yellow he didn't deserve, no glaring errors. Excited for the lad for the coming fixtures. Super Duper Branko Strupar
I think this lad will take a little settling in. Given his age obviously, but also him being between positions and therefore between tactics and mentality, he's not a settled player, imo. Not his fault, its only natural. I think he'll retain the ability to be able to cover more than one position, but I think we'll be looking to cement him in a single position to give him that direction and confidence, whilst having in mind what else he can be used or. Be massive if he and we can pull it off, should give us an extra dimension.
Pilko
Thought he was a bit unlucky to be booked (looked like both players were fouling each other to me and went against him) and got to remember this is something like his 15th senior match playing away to Dortmund in the CL. Get the feeling Eddie wants to take his time with him and properly get him playing "our way" but the injuries are forcing his hand to put him in at the minute. He's done it before with him, which as you say is relatively unusual for Howe. Putting 2 and 2 together, he's wanting a bit more from him. V early days of course... Newcastle Fan
Last two games he's been really off, if i didn't watch him have a brilliant game against Man Utd i would've said he doesn't look ready.
