I’m usually down on Dubs and a massive Pope fan, so biased. But not having that.

The last goal Trippier should do better and yes, maybe Pope having a longer leg gets the ball. But it’s still outrageous from KDB to pick it out and the feet from

Bobb…. World class.

Pope might have gone early on one of the shots or not got down to Rodri’s one.

He wasn’t available, regardless. It’s like they’re probably saying they score 5-6 if Haaland was playing.

Great pass, piss poor marking, goalkeeper on his arse.

Hopefully the week or two off will give EH time to think, given the resources we have, whether we have to switch to a different style that keeps the ball more and relies less on turn overs in transition, given that results in no energy left after 60 mins and no subs to bring on.

Their subs changed the game - something we're not capable of and people are mad. This is nuts

Some proper heads gone here.

Treble winning side able to bring their £60m midfield lynchpin and highest assist creator in the top 5 European leagues in 2023 off the bench.

A £230m defence with a £40m goalkeeper behind it.

The best player in the world last season in £60m Rodri, £55m Doku, £40m Bernardo Silva, Foden and £30m Kovacic

They didn’t bother bringing £200m of midfielders off the bench in Grealish, Nunes and Phillips, plus much vaunted youngsters like Rico Lewis and Sergi Gomez.

Then a World Cup winning striker up front.

Thats what 15 years of mega spending and the highest paid manager in the world gets you. Along with 115 charges for circumventing regulation to clamber your way to the holy grail of a Champions League win.

No disgrace today and it shows the individual talents we have in places that can compete with the Liverpool, City and Arsenals of this world.

However, the inability to sign 5 more of them due to the constraints imposed on us by rules designed ahead of a ladder pull up from the old money clubs means days like today, with our Karius, Gillespie, Dummett, Ritchie and Parkinson populated bench are going to happen time and again.

City will win the league and this will be one of the three defining moments they show on Sky for years to come. However the story of our injury crocked squad will be lost in amongst the De Bruyne dick polishing.

To fixate on Trippier and Dubravka for their goal really is self involved like. That ball from KDB is ridiculous, an inch either way and it's headed away or out of reach.

Poor marking.

Aye we conceded in the 70th minute or something. They were knackered. We had no subs. It's not hard to grasp.

Why not send Eddie an email about what you would have done differently.

Got nothing to do with the subs. If we cant play football at the 55 mark after a weeks rest we have problems. What positive did you get out of the second half then since youve got no issues to complain about?

Fully expect things to turn around after Villa.

It's been a brutal few weeks. The flat Miley-Longstaff-Bruno midfield has struggled. Good to see the wingers seeming a bit more energetic at least.

There's not much point in lambasting the lad as everyone was on their last legs, but with 2 minutes left in the match and a point on the line, he really ought to do better than give Bob so much space there.

All things considered though its hard to be upset with the result... it's belaboring the point but the better/more deserving side won and we should be fine with that.

was a kind of inevitability about the outcome with a half hour to go, but criticism of any individuals is a bit off after that effort

Yes exactly, if we’d we had Anderson, Wilson, Barnes, Joelinton, even Murphy we could’ve taken the game to them more.

They also brought on KDB ffs ?

not getting embarrassed by City is usually a decent result for most teams to be fair - look at what they did to R Madrid last season

at least we gave them a good scare

anyone expecting more with half the squad missing is deluded

City are miles ahead and it may take years to close gap

Jesus yes there was too much space in front of the defence but a bit is did you see how good foden is at taking the ball on the half turn and either running with it or immediately passing it forward? That's why the ball would get passed into him and he's away from our players way quicker than anyone else in the league. They were really really good! That has to be part of it.

We can and will. The two clubs we’ve had the misfortune to play since we got the breather are Liverpool and Citeh who are toploaded with talent and will keen possession for 60+%. Other teams won’t and we’ll be able to have more control and do less pressing to save legs.

I don't even know how we managed to be in with a chance of a result with that midfield to be honest.

Longstaff was struggling mightily and Miley is so inexperienced.

It's the one thing I would have changed, taken Longstaff off (or either him or Miley not starting) and put Schar at number 6. Might not have worked, but I said the other day that they would play through our midfield easily and that's what exactly happened. Joelington missing was (and is) massive.

Glad I watched this with a Liverpool supporting mate rather than followed along on here  you'd think we were shocking. It was a gut punch to lose but look at the facts, we were good for our 2-1 lead but ultimately they were able to bring on a world class player when our players were gassed plus another couple of LFL class players and we had Lewis Hall ?‍♂️

It is what it is, I'm proud of the effort the team gave today, Dubravka made some amazing saves to keep us in it, we defended well for the most part and we countered with intent and clinically when we got the chance. The difference between us was the fact their squad is worth twice the price of ours and their subs were better than our starting players. Gutting but had a feeling of inevibility about it, KDB changed the game.
