FAC QF: Manchester City 2-0 Newcastle United (16/03/24) | Reaction: pg 34

For all City demonstrate truly obscene levels of control in possession, it's matched out of it, too. They're incredibly effective at minimising the space for the opposition team; swarming the man on the ball, cutting passing lanes. They're just a complete team.

Hope to god we can keep Bruno because this is a totally different dynamic with Bruno and Tonali in there. Plus an electric RW. Man. I'm already excited for next season

Wouldn’t count on keeping Bruno

Straight through us with fucking ease yet again, It's been happening for months and we haven't looked like solving it.

I love that Haaland was literally just walking in a straight line without any pressure

Every team knows you run at us we will back off to the goal line, polar opposite to last season.

The difference, City's attack press from the front, they're all drilled in chasing the ball down and winning it back, all the front six defend as an attacking unit hunt in a pack, out of possession we simply don't match it, you're not seeing Isak, Gordon, Willock etc doing anything like the same.

So many look really leggy, not a criticism, it's just obvious what's in front of you. Then you realise City have two squads to our ravaged one.

I think he's 100% gone, he must be fed up of having nobody on the same level in midfield.

Aye Dubs has dealt with everything well for once. Saves it for games that are total wastes unfortunately. Completely unconvincing and often costly the rest of the time.

One of my biggest irks was when he dropped Tino as soon as the big oaf burn was back from injury, then he gets fucking run ring around as expected again and just stays in, would also love to know what the reason is for keeping Trippier on when he was screaming for a rest in his gifting goals for fun stage. What kind of evil doing has Hall done to not get any sniff. Why not just give the youngsters some minutes when its clear that some players are running on fumes and literally cant almost walk. And whats with the damn space between midfield and defense that hasn't been fixed since he took over, it was exploited back then as well, but Pope and our CBs decided to play like gods. And he might not be a dullard, but when idiots like me can spot the problems, shouldn't the man getting paid huge amounts of money manage to spot the same thing and perhaps address it?

Said it a few days back wrt Burn....we can see it, opposition management and players can see it, other fans can see it yet EH is blind or indifferent to it
