Very good, but Burnley are utter dross.

Without a major injury crisis for what must have been two thirds of the season, think we would have made top 4 again.

Only lost one in 8 games and drew at old Trafford last week. We are making them look poorer than their recent form suggests

The Hall/Tino partnership at full-back is why I never bought having to play Burn LB to accommodate Trippier bombing on. For the first two goals, one drove forward, the other sat. Hope this is how it is from now.

I agree. I don't think many other teams has felt the need to play a CB like fullback just to allow the other one to attack? It has worked, but that doesn't mean that having 2 fullbacks that can attack doesn't work just as well, if not better.

Just gives so much more variation.

I mean, if we get to the stage Liverpool are at where one full-back is getting on the end of the others crosses then all the better like.

3-0 up away from home against a team that's been picking up form.

Changed the formation - puts to bed any idea that Howe doesn't have a plan B

Winning away from home, arresting our shit away from.

Up to 4th in the form table overall.

There is literally nothing to complain about here

Definitely better and in the long run will help Gordon/Barnes out even more as they will have more space with someone actually attacking behind them

Don't mind folk mentioning that first 10 as it was pretty annoying but wow once we got into gear we've played some terrific stuff.

Happy enough if it ends 3 0 if we don't get any injuries but would like an isak goal if possible

I've been trying to enjoy the journey since I started going regularly in 1970, for fuck's sake we just need to win something.

Well it's pointless complaining about the past, it's already gone. Instead of complaining about it, maybe build yourself a time machine and go back 55 years and change stuff.

Alternatively, live in the present and judge us on what we're doing now.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but we haven't won anything in 55 years and this is entirely Howe's fault. Even these teams have won something:

Sunderland

Middlesbrough

West Ham

Southampton

Stoke City

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Derby

Coventry

Norwich

Aston Villa

Wigan

Luton

Wimbledon

Nottingham Forest

Oxford

Portsmouth

Sheffield Wednesday

Good first half. Burnley were always gonna fly at us from the off, but we weathered it early aand gradually got on top.

From memory, very similar to Sheff Utd away, when we were also 3-0 up at half time. :naughty:

Seriosuly though, dont see another 8-0, but a couple or 3 more in the 2nd half would be nice. :indi:

I'm only liking because I'll never not love that reference. But I still think we'd be fuming if that was any of our players than Longstaff.

Burn came into the club playing centre back.

He only started playing at left back because Targett couldn't stay fit and we never landed the left backs we were linked with e.g. Lodi and Tierney.

Burn then made the spot his own as the team were keeping clean sheets and getting results.

Halls emergence is a great sign. Hopefully we land someone else that can play there this summer, and Burn can settle into being an option at centre back going forward. Only playing left back in emergency situations.
