Suspect he's off and we're spending quite big on his replacement therefore the cheap backups. Just sounds like more fun.

I will not complain if we sign Mamardashvili instead :-)

Gonna file this one in with the likes of Daryl Murphy or Leon Best.. a meh signing but who pleasantly surprises when called upon.

Welcome Mr. Ruddy.

Maybe shoring up parts of squad and saving cash for right winger, centre half and one more?

Save money on keepers and spend big elsewhere and hope it works.

So.

Pope - Odysseas - Ruddy - Gillespie?

Dubravka obviously on his bike. Must have put a pin in the Trafford signing for now as Odysseas was cheaper?

Good interview.  Seems like a grounded, intelligent, down to earth fella.  Think he'll be a good signing to work with our group of keepers on the training field.

Yeah enjoyed his interview. Comes across very professional and sincere. You'd assume that something has gone wrong if he ends up seeing the pitch, but certainly no qualms about having people like that in the dressing room.

4 keepers is the latest trend apparently and makes a lot of sense with training drills. Wayne Rooney was going on about it in a podcast when England called up a 4th GK for the Euros for training only.

Guessing we are going down that route.

John Ruddy is probably better than Dubs in all fairness. Unspectacular goalkeeper, but seems to remember his hands can be used to catch the ball.

Brilliant interview. Culture is so crucial especially when you look at what happens when it goes wrong (see Man Utd), and he seems a consummate professional and serious about his work.

Not enough goalkeepers.

Keegan used about 14 players in 95 and still had 4 in the squad. It's a karius replacement get over it man

Particularly a young English U21 keeper in fact. Still see us signing Trafford at some point.

Think the Greek gets loaned out.

When you lose characters like Dummett and Ritchie, you have to replace with proper good heads like Ruddy.

Howe did mention this at the end of the season.
