I’ve arbitrarily decided that Eddie is talking the Ferguson approach of running the whole caboodle, which given what he’s achieved so far is just fine with me.

He’s not SAF, though, and the game is far different than it was 20+ years ago. I doubt SAF could do now what he did running that club.

And if not Campos, Simon Rolfes from Leverkusen.

I doubt we're bringing in any of these sorts of people man [emoji38]

These sorts will have their own way of doing things and are likely to even want to bring in their own manager!

Nickson was considered for the role last summer. I think he'll get it this summer.

I dunno. I’m a bit old fashioned in I believe that the guy picking the team and tactics every week should have a pretty big say in the personnel he has to choose from.

Yeah, you’re old fashioned. Barely anyone does it now.

Quite happy to give Nickson a go. He was instrumental in deals pre Ashworth.

The catastrophizing by some after every minor blip is pretty absurd! Why would Mitchell leaving be that big of a deal? He's not been here very long, had little to no impact whilst here, and given the fact he's now left it's a reasonable assumption that him and Howe weren't on the same page, and there should only be one winner there, therefore it seems good news this is done now and we move on.

Eddie will be the main man in charge of dealings this summer, his record of signings to date for us has been fantastic, we are in fantastic hands, we move on!

Yeah, I like Nickson.

Just hope some of the longer term stuff isn't abandoned.

Like bringing in young players into the youth teams.

Wonder what those high profile youngsters we signed are thinking, as it seemed Mitchell was driving that.

We need a sporting director but it seems we need one who's happy to hand over power to Howe on a number of things.  They will basically mean we'll not get a top one at all.

Or do it the other way around and involve Howe in the process of recruitment. It’s the only way imo.

That's how it appears to be yes, but let's see how it plays out. Maybe I'm totally wrong and he's leaving because Eales is. If so you'd expect a like for like replacement who's heavily involved in transfers.
