Other than his comparative youth he’s not a step up on Schar, Lascelles or even Krafth in that right CB position.

We’re panic bidding now. Not a great sign.

To say he’s not better than Lascelles or Krafth seems a bit OTT

He's quick, sticks to his man, heads the ball very well. What's there not to like? Maybe he just needs a change of environment.

More importantly, if we get him over the line, at least there's some hope of momentum after the past few weeks of depressing news on the signings front. Sort Isak out once and for all by the weekend and we can move on quickly.

To be fair, we’re going to need 4 or 5 defenders over the next 2-3 years. We need back ups as well as starters. Age is quite important.

He's clearly better than two of them and has a higher ceiling than all three though. I agree he won't instantly come in and improve the first team though.

A really good point tbh - for 25m <> a no brainer at this stage

So we've heard he has a blunder in him, fair enough, but has he got decent recovery pace? Because that's one of the main things needed, since our CBs are slow as fuck 😅

This is in a hypothetical world where we (post Elanga) since some cunt, however

“WE ONLY SHOP BRITISH”

”WE NEVER LOOK FOR BARGAINS”

”WE ALWAYS TARGET UNATTAINABLE PLAYERS”

Make an offer for a German international centre back, playing for one of the biggest teams in Italy, at a comparatively low price compared to the other options.

”NO, NOT HIM!”

We are the only club who can track a player for 4 windows and manage to have a bid rejected before weve even offered it.

In all seriousness, id have absolutely no issues with this signing. Had we signed him in the first week of July, id have been quite complimentary of the club sticking to their guns and getting the player they want.

However, very little the club do now is going to look anything other than a panic or reactionary and I think thats a fair criticism.

Had we signed Elanga, Ramsdale, Thiaw and Wissa a month ago, the debacle around Isak and another striker wouldnt have seemed anywhere near as cataclysmic but because weve focused on one area of the pitch (badly), the optics of this transfer window will always be a negative one.

We need them to desperately pull one rabbit out of the bag.

Apologies, no idea why I typed Mensah. He came very highly rated, what went wrong?

The problem is that he's tactically stupid. I've been going to San Siro since '82, and only Luther Blissett has been treated worse by 80,000 fans... Anyway, the Premier League is a world apart. I wouldn't be surprised if Leeds or Crystal Palace signed him and he had an excellent season.

He played two and a half friendlies for them some years ago. He’s less of an international than Calvert-Lewin.

This carobonara is binding right? We’re not going to get fucked over and find out that @Curva Sud Milano has actually gone round to the cartel clubs and cooked them a carbonara each instead? I want assurances

I'm already resentful that it's not happening today. Get it cooked.

Not sure you can be “less of an international.

You’re either one, or you’re not.

Do we like Antonio Mango? Personally I love his utter dedication to the stats and charts. Thiaw's passing stats surpass Schar's, and he thrives really high up the pitch. Both of which are attributes dear to a "Howe system".

I love it that every time we are linked to a Milan player, it attracts exactly one really sound Milan poster to this forum. [emoji38]
