Oh ... and for all of the people that were screeching about us not knowing what we were doing regarding paying more than Como. The article mentions that was largely due to us wanting to spread the fee out over a number of years.

Yeah but how does paying more over time help with PSR? I was led to believe the total amount is spread along the length of the contract, regardless of when or how it's paid, or have we found a loophole?

This isn't interest free, it's costing an extra £15-20m.

 

Unless the Athletic have gotten it completely wrong it suggests there's a way to cheat PSR a bit

Having read the twitter/ X account in his signing, judging by what Jacobs has written, Tonali must have a really positive attitude about the club and believe he impressed Thiaw about what the club is all about. Whether it's Osula and Elanga and now Tonali it's clear to me players help with signings.
