People were wrong about Burn. Wrong about Gordon. Wrong about Thiaw. Now that’s fine, but you’d think, that such a record might make folk more cautious about writing off players they don’t actually know much about in future. Opinion and debate and alternative view points are a reason I keep coming back all these years. Not every decision or choice the club makes turns to gold. Our hit rate in the market has been fucking remarkable and with such little wiggle room its needed to be. Its not all worked and some contract extension have been debateable but if the threads all just said the player is great and well done the club they wouldnt move past a few pages. In a window where we kept missing out our top targets, (Huijens, Guehi, maybe Scalvini and Leoni if they was ever serious links) and then buying a guy we decided against going for last year who a not particularly strong Milan team were willing to offload for 20mil, you can see how people might be underwhelmed. I hate it at work, people running round finding reasons not to do things. Those same people can't be touchy when it's pointed out to them months later that their opinion was OTT at best and just absolute bollocks at worst. Can't have it both ways.
