He was arguably our best player vs Arsenal, who are currently favourites for the league. [emoji38]

I know, but what I mean is the way he's tested. Balls in behind, in the channels, one on one against someone skillful. I haven't seen that and other things happen yet, that's all.

Gobshite Italian fans laughing at us at the time. Different players suit different leagues. Likely the case he’s more a PL defender than Serie A.

I have seen his games at Milan, and I totally understand why they have had such opinion.

Not to take away any credit from Thiaw, but I think it’s just how good Howe is able to fit him into our defence system. Howe deserves most credit to me.

Extremely glad how it turns out btw. We have been shouting for Schars successor for long and Thiaw looks like a fucking bargain

This is pretty much it. Howe's ability to transform defenders is pretty incredible. Dan Burn was an outcast for Brighton and has become an England CB and one of the best defenders I've witnessed as a supporter.

Thiaw has slotted in perfectly, the concerns were valid, he looked shakey at times for Milan but I'm glad that hasn't happened here and him and Botman compliment each other very well.

35-40m for Thiaw? Is this the “value from abroad” everyone was asking for?

Could literally spend even a tiny bit more and get someone a lot more proven for the money imo.

Be furious if we sign him. Absolute bum who we’ll have to upgrade again sooner rather than later.

This interest just strikes me that the club have done fuck all past 12 months and reverting to players on their radar from 2023-2024.

Wonder if this will be a lesson for people

For centre backs so much depends on your partner and the understanding you can strike together. Never forget how Bramble looked so improved alongside Woodgate….mostly:D With Botman he’s got class to ease him in.

Pretty happy with what I’ve seen so far but I didn’t see anything of him at Milan so he’s got a clean slate with me.

He has played well don't get me wrong but it has only been a few games. Very promising signs obviously but want to see a game against someone like Haaland or a pacey striker.

I was sort of wrong anyway, but my post had nothing to do with his quality tbf. It was because we were going in for him after his Como deal fell through and Allegri wanted to keep him.

That was just quotes from about 3 pages. There'll be loads more

I think people were more annoyed that we were linked with someone we'd been linked with previously because it wasn't an exciting new link
