Eddie said he would be returning to training imminently this morning, so should see him back in a squad in the next couple of weeks. Just in time to prove his fitness before a deadline day medical somewhere...

Seriously don’t get the hate he gets. For a third choice striker who actually is a bit threatening when he gets the chance and can be useful on the right too?

Say we sell him now for 20 million. You think it’s easy to find another striker willing to be third choice who can actually do a job for us? Some of you guys live in Football Manager fantasy land.

I don't think it's hate, it's recognising that he's just not very good at this level, even for a third choice striker. If he were a 17 year old you'd have more hope for him, but he's 22.

Totally agree, we could've used him over Christmas and New Year for sure. I don't think many teams have top 3rd strikers if they play 1 up front.

Given he can also be effective off the wings he could've added a bit of chaos and threat going forward at least.

I'm naturally biased towards backing all our players, but I think he was starting to show some good signs. But I guess if Howe doesn't agree then he'll be oot.

If we had a 17 year old third choice striker with the output per minute he’s had he’d be one of the world’s biggest prospects in football. Again, Football Manger fantasy land.

I'm not really sure what point you're making here. He's got 1 goal and no assists in 210 minutes. What is it about those stats would make him one of the world's biggest prospects?

I think watching him play gives a better idea than looking at stats though.

I mean, 210 minutes is almost nothing, there's not going to be any meaningful stats in that time in either direction.

I just think he was showing signs of causing problems for defences just before he got injured.

Well, exactly  Which is why I asked.

It’s three goals and an assist in 300mins.  That’s nothing to sneeze at for a third choice striker. But I don’t want to get into semantics. In my view he’s unfiltered chaos and aggression and an absolute pest for defenders coming on for the last twenty minutes or so. He’s probably not going to be an established top half PL striker but he’s useful nonetheless.

Wouldn’t bother me much getting rid. It’s getting someone in his stead where I think people are being wholly unrealistic.

We're counting his goals against a league one team then?

Let's be honest, finding a striker is hard whether they're 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice. But that's not a reason for keeping someone if an offer comes in.

I thought he's always looked fairly dangerous. Definitely a good option off the bench to cause a bit of a ruckus.

It is still a valuable squad position, it'll be difficult to get 2-3 first teamers in each position anytime soon.

Personally quite like Osula. Obviously there is a lot of refinement that is needed in his game, but I can’t not love his chaos.

he seems a good character too. Likes a laugh, and it seemed to go a bit unnoticed but that goal he scored against Liverpool, is one of the most emotional I’ve ever seen a player after a goal.

It’s a shame he’s been injured. Hopefully he isn’t going to be like many of our other players and struggle with injuries.

Issue with Osula is he needs games to develop. Not going to get that here because we spent £55m on Wissa and £55m on Elanga, so he has to go.

He could kick on, and it be another what if, but unfortunately we've made a rod for our own back there.

Would be quite fun to see Osula and Woltemade play together, similar to when we played Bournemouth

They're complete opposites as players, reckon they'd be a nightmare to handle

I quite like Osula as a chaos ball and rotation option when we need to rest one or both main strikers for what it's worth. I think he's shown flashes but is obviously very raw.

You can make the case that he needs a development loan spell for game time, but given the insane fixture schedule I'd rather have him in the squad than not.

Antoine Semenyo was playing for Bristol City at 22 and had a record of 16 goals in 112 appearances. Most players don't peak until their mid 20s at least, he's shown lots of flashes of having the ability to be a very useful player.

Bit bewildered he's being written off by some, he's always looked a bit of a handful and it looked like he was beginning to channel it when he got the pesky injury. I'd keep a hold this season, see if he can contribute

It's all very well to pick his faults - and he has a few - but try finding a replacement for that money. I said the same thing earlier in this thread.

The best we can do is maybe sell him at the end of the season and put that money towards a really top class striker for say £80m. But tbh, even at that price you aren't getting the finished article.
